I take it that you've seen the extended cut already. Tell me more about it.

Common sense... Could you honestly come up with a logical explanation that justifies StarChilds existence without sacrificing the necessity of ME1's 2 main antagonists (Saren & Sovereign) or even the whole plot of ME2? Well, I sure can't.

Yeah because Common sense it the same as knowing exactly what Bioware is going to add in the extended Cut. And why should I come up with a logical explanation. That's Bioware's job.

Whiners like you have no valid arguments and a come-back doomed to fail.

Please, please, please Bioware, I'm begging you, take my money and give us an ending that this game deserves. Don't simply expand on this insanity that we already have.

Better than nothing...

This, but I will reserve final judgement until I see this DLC.  Yes, its a nice gesture and perhaps it will add some *closure* but I doubt it will resolve the possibility that it could still be the same ending with simply more bells and whistles.

Remaining pessimistically optimistic.

Bioware have made it very clear that they are NOT changing the ending, I'm just thankful that they are at least doing something. All in all, I am looking forward to the DLC, come on people don't judge it before you see it ;)

Free DLC is bad because I have to wait several months to know if it will do the trick or enrage me even more.

I know I never asked for more clarification and neither did most of the members of the forum. Nearly all of us asked for a NEW ending that removed the ridiculous god child and his three choices of nonsense.

We wanted Bioware to simply give us what they promised multiple times. Multiple endings based on the player choices that reflect what we did over three games.

Space magic is still space magic regardless of the explanation. Death to the star child! >_<

There is no downside to this really. It costs nothing, adds clarification, and could possible fix the ending that so many people seem to have a problem with. I actually liked the ending but obviously people didnt and they did something about it. FOR FREE! so what if they didnt completely change it get over it its not going to happen. No other company in the world would do something like this so could all the people bashing them for doing something that is unheard of at least reserve judgement until it is released. Or until then get off the forums and take your games back or throw them in the trash. Its not going to happen so just let it go you are just wasting your keyboards vitality. They are not doing any other dlc until this is released which means no extra gameplay no extra multiplayer nothing. And they are doing it for you. How about some gratitude for once on this god forsaken website.

Chances are it won't be what we expect it to be.

Pretty much.

Personally I'm not happy with the endings but they are what they are and it should be crystal clear at this point that Bioware has no intention of ever changing them.

Whining and complaning, talking trash about Bioware or its employees, or even writing polite, well-thought-out, solid arguements pointing out the flaws in the current endings is not going to change the fact that Bioware has no intention of ever changing them. Period.

They're expanding upon the current endings for free. It is what it is. Take it or leave it. If you don't like it, I can completely understand that, but further "suggestions" and "ideas" about how Bioware can change the ending is pointless.

I'm just happy they're doing something, and for free at that. Maybe I'll like it, maybe I won't, but at the very least I've come to terms with the fact that the ending isn't changing. You should, too.

Please, please, please daecath, don't give BioWare any ideas. Don't offer those greedy sons of b*tches your money for something that should already have been in the game from the start.

Either the DLC is free, or no DLC at all. I absolutely loathe people who are willing to pay their hardearned money for a fixed ending. You are way too good for BioWare and EA. They don't deserve your money. They don't deserve any of it until they fixed these endings FOR FREE.

"Thankful"? Is this some kind of present or something, LOL? Seriously, BW isn't my benevolent uncle Thomas, giving me a C note to pick up some groceries. I'm not 'thankful' for anything I buy from a company. That's ludicrous. Moreover, BW wouldn't be releasing this proposed DLC in the first place if they hadn't botched the original release in such amazing, wondrous, horrifying fashion. At this point, they either offer a carrot of hope to buyers, while themselves praying to whatever deity they follow that it works, or they kiss this IP goodbye. If the game sold was doing well, not BW and not anyone else for that matter, would even bother appeasing this 'vocal minority'.

Fact is, it isn't a vocal minority, it's a majority of consumers, and if BW wants this IP to have a chance at a future, they'd better do something - hence this 'extended cut' DLC. No business, none nowhere no how, is going to change their post-production release schedule because of few people are mad. The only reason to do that is because no one wants what they are offering, the business is hurting at the profit level, and they are scrambling to regain loyal customers before everything goes down the toilet.

So, no, I'm not thankful for 'free' DLC, which adds no interactivity or playability, but instead is a longer 'normandy crash' scene, followed by epilogue cards, and more Stargazer. I'd have been interested in buying DLC for the game if it had been "right" to the end in the first place. But I, and apparently several thousand (tens of thousands) others aren't interested in buying extra stuff for a game we are no longer interested in. Deleted scenes aren't going to get me interested. FWIW, YMMV and to be clear, there is no emotionality in my post. I'm not mad about this, I'm not being snarky. It is what it is, afai concerned.

I agree, I personally don't like the endings either but that is because I don't understand what going onImage IPB. Maybe if Bioware explain whats going on I will like them, also they can ever give me a happy ending when Shep chooses destroy and has enough EMS points. People have got learn that Bioware are not changing the endings no matter how much they complain, take what you can get Image IPB

I think it's a step forwards but a bit more work is required, a few more options for the final decision would be nice.

Of course.

I am still playing ME3, one more time with my femshep renegade, and i find myself doing multiplayer more and more because my galatic readiness going down whenever i take a few days off really really bugs me.

So.... they are going to give me 2 new multiplayer maps, geth, batarians etc... for free right now. And in a few months they are going to expand on the ending, which in all honesty while it didn't upset me as much as many, i thought could definetly use a little more in the way of closure/squadmates etc.

I'm happy to be honest. The usual standard would to be charging 400msp or whatever for it.

Call me weird for saying
this.. I know I am thinking it.
But.. You paid for this DLC as part of the consumer base. The fact that
they call it "free" appears to be a PR stunt. This was a planned attaché
product which is being hung over our heads and used to manipulate the
consumer.

Here is where paranoia comes into this rant:
There was a released "leak" a while back regarding MP DLC that contained
new classes, weapons and maps. The poster stated that it was intended
as free. They named it "The truth". It actually turned out to be a true
DLC. The contents noted by the "leak" were 1:1 what was announced for
"Resurgence" MP DLC. The official DLC was announced just prior to PAX
East in the midst of a PR furor. Ignoring the customer base etc.
Whatever the argument.

Now thing is, the "leak" also contained information regarding a new SP content as well. Including new missions, enemies, etc.
The so called reason: "because of a leak the whole ending was half-assed" - I paraphrase but you get the picture.
"The Truth" DLC

So there is my rambling incoherent issue with "the bribery".
Because what they made has already been paid for by you the consumer. It
had been produced in the same vein as the original game. We do not need
to show a gratitude to the company if their PR purposes were to deceive
us, and their stunt failed miserably.

They are running the same strategy without duly considering the dent
they have taken.
I hope it works out with what is to come, I sincerely do. At present
however, I am one of many fans who are so greatly displeased with
ignoring what is going on, that I am witholding my money anyway.
I won't be tempted to buy any DLC from Bioware until this matter ends,
probably never again.

They sell you the "shell" and 2 pieces of DLC as standard. Along with a new component for the franchise - Multiplayer (MP)

So with an unsatisfying single-player campaign and continual stalling, people who love the franchise as SP can either stew in limbo or play MP. As the time masses, the MP becomes more and more active. This is where the money gets drip fed in, because now the fanbase are playing MP the company can actively draw money from microtransactions. The game gets its money from MP. .

So now with the easy free publicity (bad publicity is still publicity) they are waiting out the sheiser-storm of frustration and disappointment. Banking on the "fans" to play with what they have (MP) and then release the "leak" DLC. And as planned, with PAX being their PR cop-out they release one DLC on tuesday -"Resurgance".

As was released we are now awaiting a finalised "Extended-Cut" DLC for the game. Which too was alluded to in the leak mentioned earlier. Yet we remain without clarity as to what this DLC will contain, I bank more faith in the leak than in Bioware's official press releases at this time.

I'm thankful. I just don't get the hype. How can anyone complain when the word "free" is slapped on the ass end of anything?

Hell, if someone offered me free herpes I'd at least consider the offer, let alone free DLC for single and multiplayer of one of my favorite games? You kidding me?

I am extremely thankful and happy actually. I don't NEED a specific ending (IT or something else) to be happy. While I would like some of those things, all I actually really need is something that makes sense. This appears to be attempting to make sense of the endings and that's all I need.

Depends what's in it.

If someone serves me up a free piece of **** I'm not going to be thankful.

If someone gives me a free golden nugget then I may jump for joy.

You have to thank the Retakers for that free map/character mp pack. If the backlash wasn't as big as it is than they would have charged you $10-15 for it.

Because free herpes is still herpes..
..free junk is still junk..
..free uselessness is still uselessness..
..free 'something I didn't want to pay for or play before anyway' is still not something I want to play..
..a free slap-in-the-face is still just that — a free slap in the face.. Doesn't mean I want another.  That's just silly.

A free franchise-killing DLC is still just more time wasted for something that doesn't make me any happier.  I don't want anything that "clarifies" the current ending.  I already know the ending is terrible...give me a different one.  Please.  So I can  you guys at BW again.  Because right now, you guys make me :crying:.

I'm wary of the multiplayer DLC because it comes too soon after EA was given the worst company is America award and Bioware has gotten so much negative feedback concerning their product. It's just too much coincidence for me not to raise an eyebrow too.

As for the extended cut DLC. As it stands now and has been described it only does a fraction of what the fan base has been requesting of Bioware. I plan on seeing what it is but unless it fixed the myriad of issues with the ending rather then just being cinematic scenes I am planning on ending all future business with Bioware.
