No a free "clarification" dlc was not what the fans wanted, or was not what I wanted.

Hey! If you Buy the witcher 2, then you really will be very super thankful to cdpr, it's marketing, nothing to be grateful for. (speaking of a single dlc, a complete rebuild/rebalance of a game like cdpr did with tw1 is a great thing, to be really proud of).

I will decide when we get it, if its even worth a thank you, If we get 10sek of some unimportant footage then NO.

I'm not going to appreciate something that "clarifies" on something that already sucks. Free or not.

I remain cautious.

On one hand, it could open the possibility of having Shepard meet his team again (Liara most importantly).

On the other, it could just explain to me that the turd is actually from a horse.

There is no downside to this really. It costs nothing, adds clarification, and could possible fix the ending that so many people seem to have a problem with. I actually liked the ending but obviously people didnt and they did something about it. FOR FREE! so what if they didnt completely change it get over it its not going to happen. No other company in the world would do something like this so could all the people bashing them for doing something that is unheard of at least reserve judgement until it is released. Or until then get off the forums and take your games back or throw them in the trash. Its not going to happen so just let it go you are just wasting your keyboards vitality. They are not doing any other dlc until this is released which means no extra gameplay no extra multiplayer nothing. And they are doing it for you. How about some gratitude for once on this god forsaken website.

Of course there is a downside.  Free garbage is still garbage.  They are "clarifying" the ending because apparently Bioware thinks the whole isse we've been having is that we are all just too stupid and don't "get" the ending.  Bioware stated publicly before release that we'd have 16 different endings affected by our choices in ME3.  That the finale would be a culmination of all our choices.  That there would be a definate ending, without any Pick 3 Choices ending.  ALL WERE LIES.  Can't sugar coat that, they lied, knowingly, willingly LIED about the features of ME3, just to boost sales.

As for other companies, how about what happend with The Witcher?  It had bad conversation audio, bugs and the like and CD Projekt RED completely redid the audio, animations and fixed the bugs For Free.  Estimates put they spent nearly $1 million redoing the game to meet Fan Expections and didn't charge them a single cent.  Free patch for those that already owned the game, and the new edition didn't cost any more.   THEY have my gratitude for fixing The Witcher.  Bioware hasn't done a d*** thing to earn my gratitude so far, my ire yes but no gratitude.

Remember people:  HOLD THE LINE

For the record, I'm very grateful for free dlc, especially when it's coming from EA, who are notorious for money grabbing. Anything free's good for me. I can understand the disappointment for some people who expected a totally new ending, but I don't think that was even really a financially viable option for any company running under the iron fist of EA. (Not to mention the ten times worse fallout of not including a true ending on disc at release. Honestly, how people could prefer this after complaining about day one dlc is beyond me.)

I'm thankful it's happening, I'll be many degrees more thankful if it's able to really rescue the situation as it stands. I remain hopeful.

A free piece of crap.....is still a piece of crap.

(And I fully expect it to be crap because no amount of "clarification" can fix an ending like that.)

I'm not thankful for this dlc/patch yet, but maybe after I've played it. For now I'm cautiously optimistic. I doubt it can get any worse, or at least I hope it can't. Well, I guess I'll see when I replay the game, which will be sometime next year I guess.

Witcher 2 is a good game and actually does romance scenes without fear. They don't treat their players as children and expect their players to be mature about it, which they have for the most part outside bad parents letting their children play the game despite the rating than QQing about it.

If it was not free, I'm sure Bioware would have had a huge internet firestorm on their hands with the whole ending thing. I'm glad they decide to give it out for free.

I take it that you've seen the extended cut already. Tell me more about it.

Common sense... Could you honestly come up with a logical explanation that justifies StarChilds existence without sacrificing the necessity of ME1's 2 main antagonists (Saren & Sovereign) or even the whole plot of ME2? Well, I sure can't.

I have one...

He's an AI left behind by the first race to make a willing ascension to Reaper status after they were almost wiped out by Synthetics themselves. They spent roughly 500,000 years cleaning up synthetics after they wiped out their creators and decided it was a waste of cultural evolution, therefore they spent a few million years working out the timetable for harvesting and after harvesting organics they wiped out the leftover synthetics. They probably tried making exceptions for species that had apparently worked out differences with synthetics but eventually the synthetics yet again attempted to rise up and destroy their creators and they weren't willing to allow that to happen again. The Catalyst was something they put into the Citadel after creating the Mass Relays system which they used to ensure organic life would not only develop as they preferred but also so that it would stay contained within areas near relays.

At the head of the system was an adaptive AI with one function, protect the future of Organic life the only way it could, by maintaining the positions of the Mass Relay network so that no matter what happened from cycle to cycle the Reapers always knew where they would be.

The fun part is that the knowledge of the locations of the Mass Relays could only be relayed through one reaper. The first Reaper. Harbinger. This is why during the conversations with the catalyst he simultaniously refered to himself as both controlling the Reapers(which, as their leader and the first he did) and being part of them.

Cautious acceptance, waiting for the final product. And I do mean cautious. Never mistake something that is free as being some present given out of a kind heart. Consider the reasons why this being done.... its more of a CMA DLC than a fan related give-away.

we're still reduced to wild speculation. You'll just have to wait again...and again...and again...

Would you be grateful if they punched you in the face for free? Surely you'd have to be grateful because it's FREE!

Seriously, it's a simple divide-and-conquer. They release free DLC for summer, thus getting those unable to see through transparent PR BS to support them against those unhappy with Bioware's deceptive marketing. By the time it's released, anger will have faded

I appreciate that they're using a lot of their own money to add this.

However, I don't have a lot of hope for it fixing anything.

I certainly am thankful. Any chance to improve the ending and top off this amazing trilogy for me has to be welcomed.

The last 5 mins of the game left me with a sour taste in my mouth so hopefully this free dlc let's me be proud of the ME series once again.

Thanks for attempting to improve the ending Bioware. I do appreciate it.
