Did you just miss that part or what?

The only thing that would be in the Sol system would be the resistance movement on Earth, who would be part of the sacrifice in 'Victory through sacrifice'

Artistic vision is so important to Bioware...that they still refuse to comment or explain the plot holes and plot contradictions in that very vision. Really, it'd be easier if they just came out and said they were lazy instead of this PR doublespeak.

All you can come up with is fanfic becuase you like changing the vision of writers that are 1,000 times better than you so you can somehow say you were artistically involved in this game.

Pro-tip: Karpyshyn's original idea for the endings was that the Reapers existed to prevent the spread of dark energy.

Dont talk to me about changing the vision of the writers when that is literally what Bioware themselves did.

don't be so dense and listen to the facts.

Karp has his own story yes? his vision yes? guess what, when he left for TOR, a new writer took over, he brought his vision yes? where in the hell do you see them changing a vision? lol.

just incase you are slow.. lets try again

That's like if I asked for a new car and You were the designer... you had ideas but before you gave them to everyone and finish, you get transfered. someone takes your job position and guess what? his job as now designer is to make me a concept for a car.. he does so.

artistic vision intact!

I just don't understand why their artistic vision wasn't important to them after the leak... Why only now?

Because artistic vision is just a way of coming up with a catch phrase.

You see it politics all the time.  Just like we were labeled the "minority".

Just like Americans who don't think Obama is a natural born citizen are called "birthers"...

Etc etc the list goes on and on.

Its all part of corporate public relation damage control.

No, but we can write a better ending.

>Crucible fails to fire
>In a desperate bid to defeat the Reapers, several ships begin towing a large asteroid towards the Charon Relay
>Rest of the fleets retreat beyond the Relay
>Asteroid hits Charon Relay
>Arrival-style destruction of Sol System
>Sacrifice Earth and the entire Sol System to destroy the Reapers

Casey Hudson claimed the theme of ME3 was 'victory through sacrifice.

There you go.

There are Reapers outside of the Sol system. PLOT HOLES!!!

Yeah cause the plot holes in that description are SOOO bad in comparison to the train weack at the end of thr actual game.

But two games were made before Karpyshyn left.

Its more like if I was building you a sports car, and halfway through you fired me, and hired a new guy, who decided what you really wanted was a motorcycle, and built that instead.

Don't give me that crap.

By your rationale you, personally, can NEVER, EVER dislike anything unless you can do better.  So, do you love every game, song, TV show and movie?

Right.  Shhhhh

Has nothing to do with it.

Would you like to try again?

You guys seem to think BioWare sucks. I want to see you guys do better.

Hmm, give me the assets that they have and then we'll have a fair situation for which you to tell me to make a better game.  Until then, keep making useless posts attempting to argue points no one really cares about.

Read through the whole forum. Plenty of people on here have written better endings (Including myself) that forum readers have praised up and down. So we (collective) have done better.

Yes. Bioware, I'm glad your artistic vision is so important to you. You can carry it on without the funding of me, or a lot of your core fans. You have made it abundantly clear you no longer want to make RPGs - you want to make cinematic linear shooters with interesting characters. I'll leave that to you to decide, but know you will follow this decision without my support, and without the support of many other people. My negative advertising of you will continue, as I tell more and more people not to buy your games.
Thank you, have a nice day.

Nah, but I tend to avoid what I don't like and move on with my day. There's just some things you can't control. People don't always do things to our tastes , sometimes it's just best to let them be. The point where I get angry is when I'm trying to walk away the person cuts me off and shove's it in my face 1,000 times over. I don't dog on people for doing something I can't do. It makes me feel silly and it makes me feel like I'm slapping them in the face.

I think you just need to go back to Green Eggs and Ham...Oh wait, Dr. Suess is to sophisticated a read for you.

I know, you should read the Twilight Series! That, you'll likely find good.

That's perfectly understandable.  But do you really think it's THAT outrageous for people to be angry after such an expansive investment?  You see a 90 minute movie that's awful, you walk away and forget about it.  After a 90-200 hour investment, it's going to sting a lot worse.

I personally don't know how I feel about the DLC announcement.  I would like the have faith.  Of course I'll get it. But considering BioWare already thought the ending that came with ME3 was good ... my confidence in their storytelling abilities has been shaken.

Having said that, I hope for the best.

If Artistic Vision is so important to them, why betray it in the last 10 minutes of the trilogy by pulling a side-plot as main theme (and a resolved side plot at that) and rip off Deus Ex?
Why discard the ending for the trilogy after the leak? (granted, wouldn't be necessarily better, but their claim would at least hold water)
Why sell the game's conclusion as something vastly different even one month prior release?

The claim doesn't have merit, it's just... hollow PR and, sorry to say, hubris.

The way I feel is if you spent 90-200 hours doing something, you might as well try to take out the most positives out of that you can. If you spent that much time doing homework, would you be pissed because you could've done somthing more fun with your time, or would you be grateful that you gained that many hours worth of knowledge. Though the endings weren't that good on the surface I try to dig a little deeper. Find different meanings. Think of the possibilities those three choices create. Try to find a certain amount of hope in it, and try to think of why a group as talented as BioWare would choose to end their story this way. Doing this helped me come to the conclusion that the Control ending offers the most hope for the galaxy. I'm excited to see if I'm right.

Fanfic writers are hardly on Charles Dickens or Homer's level. Why would I read the Twilight books when I could watch the movies? That would put less stress on my tiny brain ;)

It would take very little skill to devise a better ending than what was ultimately given. That just makes it worse. People don't always need to be of a profession to recognize extremely shoddy work by a person in the profession.

It's like complaining that your roofer did a terrible job because the roof is leaking water when it rains, then one of your neighbors saying, "Oh really, if you think you know so much about what a good roof is supposed to do, how about you put one up?"

Uh, no. I can complain and try to get the roofer to fix his work. I can also look for alternative roofers to do the same work. Or I can do both at the same time - I can complain, hoping the roofer will fix it for free, and look for another roofer to use my money on. If the roofer's response to the complaints is to come over and carefully clarify why roofs should be leaking when it rains, then don't expect a happy result. But Bioware should be happy about the complaints.... as long as the people complain, it means they have a shred of hope the company will do the right thing.

When they disappear and this forum is full of talk about plot from the middle of the game, it won't mean Bioware won. It will mean Bioware lost.... a lot of fans.

I'm sure it would be more interesting, at least less dry. Wait a minute, I just remembered something. Didn't the ending of Great Expectation's get changed? CRAP, forget I mentioned him ;).
