Any expansion would be better at this point, even rehashed old crap. After playing garbage that passes for an RPG, Skyrim, I realized that at this point, I'd even play more DA2 even if all they did was to add a few more dungeons and a decent story.

heey skyrim was good reeaalllyy over hyped and over rated but aside from about a million bugs it was a good game XD nah i thought skyrim was epic except the bugs but yeah back on topic bioware would be doing themselves some favours if they just brang out an expansion before they bring out da3

Act IV should have been already on the DVD I bought from Best Buy on the release date.

Skyrim was a terrible excuse for an RPG, as well as Oblivion, Morrowind and other crappy sandbox Bethesda titles like Fallout series. There was nothing epic about having to walk 15 minutes through a wasteland for a Fed-ex quest. In the end, I got so bored, I resorted to murdering random animals and passer bys in order to add excitement to my experience. The game was like a very crappy sim, except it was single player. Talent/perk system was awful, magic system was awful, combat sucks and what passes for a story in this game makes any DA2 sidequest look epic.

I know Skyrim is being praised by nerds to high heavens, however it is the most boring piece of crap I have ever had to play and wouldn't even classify it as an RPG. DA2 barely fit that criteria. Skyrim was a nordic simulation game for people who liked to waste time doing nothing.

Why is everyone so disappointed?

a lot of content from DA:O was cut and nobody misses it

Content gets cut ALL THE TIME
you only know about the expansion because it went to the press

I read that the sales of DA2 were so poor that no game retailer wanted to stock an Ulimate Edition of DA2. Maybe this is why the expansion was scraped and why Bioware is now looking to the future of the franchise.

Also another thing i'd like to point out on how Mike Laidlaw tried to defend Dragon Age 2 from the very beginning when he knew very well it was gonna be an epic failure. And during one of his interviews when he was asked about any DLCs to DA2, i knew he was lying, cause i could tell from his facial expression thanks to the game L.A. Noire.
I'm so glad L.A. Noire taught me how to detect liars. :D

DA2 has stated that the DLC will focus on HAWKE only, but after only 2 post release DLC attempts, DA2 is wrapped up with not much "clarification" on Hawke's story. One of the biggest letdowns thanks to Bioware.

They say they care about the fans but what they REALLY care about is $$$$ and not the fans.

DAO had the advantage of releasing myriad downloadable contents, which ultimately perpetuated the game's life for what seemed like a glorious, endless, eternity. We also received awakening which furthermore provided the means to keep our Wardens active, and alive. It seemed that DA2 received a couple of downloadable contents. Unfortunately. due to a general negative perception of the product it seemed that the Hawke archetype didn't warrant enough interest for some form of closure. So here we are, long after the dice has been cast.

With all factions likely going to chaos considering the schism of templars in chantry how could it occur in game reason anyway?
Reason is lack of money from games.

Hopefully with the whole team working on DA3, they will take their time and not cut so many corners like they did with DA2. Don't get me wrong, i liked DA2, but it did have alot of glaring flaws.

I'm going to be afraid if it DA3 comes out ahead of schedule, as well...

At the DA PAX East panel they stated quite explicitly that they would address the reused environments, no companion armor, and choices mattering.

All that matters is the expansion I'll never get because people couldn't stop rocking the boat.

Hawke's story isn't over. There will be more of Hawke in DA3 storyline or DA3 dlc despite playing as a new character.
Probably why they cancelled the dlc is so they can get an early start on DA3 (optimistic hope right there)

I'm guessing it will be a throw away line about how Hawke is still missing.
I can't see them bringing Hawke back in any major form, because of all the differences players have with their Hawkes.
Unless they say s/he is dead and that would not be a good idea.

I concur. Skyrim was painful. Unbearable in fact. I managed to play for a whopping 2 hours.

I could buy the Warden and Hawke being dead if it made sense. Like if Flemeth were behind their disapperances, I could see her getting them out of the way. Something lame like a group who wants to prolong the war or something getting rid of them so they can't stop it would be a stretch (and a write off) for/to me.

I think it is sad they cancelled it. I enjoyed DA2 a lot and would love to get a conclusion to Hawke's story

Maybe, with any luck, they will release more content for Hawke's story, even if it isn't the full expansion pack that Exalted March was apparently meant to be. I, for one, would be really happy to know a little more about what went down after leaving Kirkwall.

I too am disappointed that Exalted March was cancelled. DA2 needed a conclusion instead of the half-assed "and then Hawke vanished :D" As it stands now, the whole thing feels a bit incomplete.

To be fair, Origins did almost exactly the same thing, the Warden vanished too

The Warden vanished?  doesn't the epilouge tell you exactly what happened to the warden?
