I'm not attractive but you are not screwed at all. Personality actually does matter

IU wish you were right, it seems from my experiences working in customer service for so long, you tend to lose count very fast how many skinny beautiful and depressing women seem to cling to the big, jocking brad pitt even though they treat them like meat.

I've been told by a few attractive girls that I'm attractive myself. One thought I was good-looking when my hair was down to the base of my neck while another told me I was an attractive version of Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory when I had a buzz cut.

Personally, I see myself as average. But I was happy to be called attractive nevertheless. I'd say that what I think I lack in looks I certainly make up for in personality -- that of a dorky, geeky/nerdy, awkward, sweet, smart, comedic, random, sarcastic, sometimes ***hole-ish, perverted-but-in-a-good-way, and fairly athletic type of guy.

*edited to remove old pics and say that my current look is on page... 18 or 19. Don't want to seem like a narcissistic person *

Over the past 3 years people have found me to be increasingly more attractive, and at the same time more intimidating. 
 
You would think those would be mutually exclusive.

Most of my "attractiveness" comes from me being personable/friendly. I think it gets misinterpreted a lot.

Or maybe it's because I say I'm a rockstar when people ask what I do...

To be somewhat fair, many "nerdy guys" get depressed, sad, discouraged (I don't really know what word I want here) when talking to girls because there's as many stupid girls as guys.

A proper follow up I've worked out when told by guys that they feel unnactractive is, "What are you going to do about it?"

If the answer is, "nothing," then there is the problem, not that you weren't born looking like Mat Damon. In this case, you've given up trying to be attractive, so you won't be. 


I am firmly not in that department.

Well, I can safely say I'm not a "FOREVER ALONE" type of person. I'm a pretty sociable person, though I do find initiating conversations to be incredibly awkward at first. But that's merely because of how it feels, not because I can't talk to them. There's always going to be those awkward moments when you first strike up a conversation with someone.

Additionally, from what I've seen of this thread it hasn't become anything close to FOREVER ALONE.

....yet.
