Just be sent out using the relays?
The relays are already sending out that giant energy beam to the next relay. Just keep adding the energy from the Mass Effect and then shoot it out into Dark Space or all of those black holes in the center of the universe when you're done with it...

Or shoot it at Diana Allers...
She can store it in her cheeks for the winter...

Second guessing the writers again.
We only know what happend in Arrival, and yet a 5 second explanation given by the only ones with authority on the issue wasnt given to us. Thats the real problem.
