I can assure you, there has been no changes to the game difficulty apart from the ones Eric has been posting.
Edit: With 1 exception, when there was less brutes for operation fortress because of the events from operation goliath (that one was announced by Chris Priestly)
No intentional changes perhaps. In 10 years of MMORPGs, I've seen a whole lot of difficulty changes that were completely unintended but very real. Ask any programmer, computer code is like frickin' time travel. You can change one thing and it'll have a significant effect on something that seems completely unrelated. One time I had a problem with telnet server software not working, and after over a month of troubleshooting I found it was a conflict with the mouse driver I was using. To this day I can't fathom how a mouse driver could conflict with a telnet server app. Computers do freaky things sometimes. And a lot of people seem to be seeing a difficulty change as of the past few days. Maybe it's cause and effect. People are seeing it because they're looking for it now. Or maybe something really is up.
The difference is you changed code, we have not released any code changes.
The changes that Eric posts are config file changes (I look at the source of them)

Damn. If true, that's a lot sadder than if he was just a kid who acted like a kid his age.
The more of his posts I read, the more I want to do this: (ME2 spoilers)

OP and people complaining about silver being "harder" are just bad. Seriously, learn to solo silver and pugs won't effect your experience. If they die you just solo the wave as you would doing the mission alone. Of course if your soloing silver with no problem you should probably doing gold. However if your complaining silver got "harder" then you shouldn't be doing gold. Catch 22.
I am not complaining, I am just stating my observation that Geth on Silver seem to have increased in difficulty.

With all respect, I disagree with you. Ever since the Geth Hunter buff, the entire faction has been raping me harder than ever. I've since switched over to Cerberus for easy games to grind lvl 1 characters, and even that is getting a lot more difficult.
Is it more challenging? Yes. Does it encourage more teamwork? ABSOLUTELY! The question is where it leaves the poor bronze players trying to level their class, new players just starting out, and random players in general. Honestly, who deliberately picks Bronze for the challenge?
I also just have to ask one more thing:
Why would you increase the CHALLENGE without increasing the REWARDS as well? I'm sorry to say that I smell corporate greed at work here. I assume the theory was to make it a real pain to play in the easiest mode(spent 27 minutes on my last Bronze game on a Krogan Soldier, and I was NOT trying to melee things either) so that people will spend more money on packs. Well folks, the one gaping hole in that theory would be that you didn't fix the Gold game credit exploit at the same time, so we'll be having MORE cheaters now.
Outstanding.
Call us all whiners if you like, but you have to cater to your customers. I kind of wish the grocery store I work at wouldn't sell to whiny complaining customers with their welfare cards, but I realize the kind of profits they represent. You guys just seem to be driving business away. I don't have anything against greed, as I can relate to it. But for crying out loud, do it right.

But I'm guessing it isn't helped by the fact that krogans have larger heads.

The "xXxNAMExXx" thing was an fps gaming clan back in the day. I was never part of it, but was in the original Squad~X~ group...so I made xXxBONESxXx (the obvious "BONES" surrounded by piles of bones) as a spoof on them...
FPS clan names back in the day (late 90's early 00's) got to be pretty interesting...the one that made me laugh the most was a group who's clan tag was {who}. They spoofed the "Grinch who stole Christmas" cartoon by taking names of all the whos from Whoville...my favorite was a guy who named himself Boo_Fugin{who}...fun stuff.
xXxNamexXx is the most original thing, ever, you guys. Those gamertags always show the "I lack originality guys!" flag, waving in the wind.
Also, you're just full of cool stories, bro.

Are you sure, man? Enemies dodge powers more than ever, Cerberus puts up turrets at an insane rate, and enemies are much quicker to execute when you down. But I guess it could be a coincidence that so many people are finding the game more difficult all at the same time.
I have noticed some differences like this too, but I don't think it's a change in the game. As someone else posted, I agree it probably has to do with an influx of new players. More turrets? Less players targetting Cerberus Engineers. Enemies faster to execute you? Less players trying to get the attention of troopers near your corpse. And so on. Guessing.

if there was no buff....LAG has gotten really really bad...cuz mobs are moving A LOT faster, they are doing MORE damage, and they are maneuvering A LOT better. a greater % of silver matches have turned into utter disasters the last few days because of it. It is funny though...i havent noticed any rubberbanding or slowdowns or anything.
from my point of view
Indeed, the lag has been horrendous. Auto-matchmaking algorithm is crap. I live in Texas. Why the hell am I getting matched up with players in Russia and Australia. That's not good for any of us.
Really wish I just knew a handful of local gamers to play with exclusively and just forget the "Quick Match" option even exists. This is why I never finished the Borderlands DLC.

I've been playing consistently since launch; gold and silver matches, mainly. Nothing has changed. It's the same as it's always been, aside the changes the devs have posted. This pseudo difficulty is in your head.
Is it? I just played a reaper game on silver and I honestly could not tell any difference in difficulty. Sure we got wiped out at wave 5 with a human soldier, a human vanguard doing the solo retard thing, and me with my lvl 12 Krogan Soldier. But what I'm paying attention to is how fast my 1200 shields drop. Frankly all I saw on the last Bronze game was a single Assault Trooper shooting at me, and my shields dropped by half with a single burst. Those 1200 shields might as well be the 500 that humans have for all the good it does.

No, they haven't. I took 2 down on silver on a slow ass krogan soldier. The Banshee however was more of a pain. Charged GPS shots, followed by a normal shot followed by Carnage barely scratched the barriers.Liana Nighthawk wrote...
I haven't noticed any differences since the geth update other than the brute mothers finally getting their groove back.
I'm guessing a lot of these things could easily be countered by the use of CC classes and skills, but I despise being condemned to use my human engineer and not the other 10 classes/races I've unlocked.

Unless you're a controller class specced into pure aoe and sporting end-tier weapons, you can't solo Silver. You'll never make it past a camp phase with the infintie spawns.
The enemies have definitely been buffed since last week. Two words, one buff: Geth Hunters.

Nothing is worse than 666 names though. "Pet peeve" doesn't begin to describe my contempt for the "evil is cool" people that think "evil" is music by some tool that bites rodents. For their sakes, I hope they never find out what evil actually is.
