Okay, I am walking around the Citadel hub fresh after the Cerbie coup in my current playthru, and went down to the open air resteraunt where Matriarch Aethyta was serving drinks.  A C-SEC officer is nearby, the guy you deliver the geth jamming tech to, and he's talking about three people killed in his general vicinity.  Nearby is the restaraunt proprietor arguing with another C-SEC officer about forking over his video surveillance footage, and the proprietor says that one of his servers was killed "right over there".

However... I also recall the asari huntress wanting... something else from another S&R fetch quest saying that something or other was "authorized by Matriarch Aethyta herself".

Did Matriarch Aethyta get killed by the Cerbies?

If she was not killed then she was killed when the reapers used magic to move the citadel to earth.

No. She moved from Illium to the Citadel after Illium was attacked by the Reapers. After the coup she moved to Thessia to serve drinks to asari commandos. She is still fighting the Reapers. Slapping them with singularities and beating the husks to death with their sythetic spines. She even managed to build a mass relay using husks' legs and banshees' heads to rescue Liara from Gilligan's planet after Shepard destroyed, well, everything in ME universe. M.

I'm tired of all this anti-Cerberus bull! The Alliance has brain-washed you. Cerberus do not kill aliens; we assimilate them.

Why a phantom? Why not a banshee? And when you assimilate me, can you turn me into a Marauder? With some shields?
(and I know that the Reapers do the husk stuff but still, asari don't become phantoms)

Cerberus couldn't take Aethyta down. She'd slap the group with a singularity, headbutt the nearest guy, then rip out his spine and use it to rappel down the side to escape.

I highly doubt the Cerbie boys could take down a Asari Matriarch. Hell, in Grissom, they had some trouble beating the students!
And possibly, if they talked to eachother, Liara could've sent her agents to help her.

Following the coup, you can overhear an Asari (at Purgatory I believe) saying that she has been helping coordinate.

No no you forgot that Aethyta would rip that dudes spine out while he was alive and do so by pulling his spine and skull out his @sshole Predator style. They do the Predator sceam, throw a few warps, reeves, and singalarityies out at about a dozen Cerbie dudes then beat a few with the spin and skull and continue on her merry way ripping those dicks to shreads. Aethyta wouldn't run she'd kick they're @ssed into the next solor system.

I'd love to get Aeythyta in the sack, heheh "Hey Liara I'm doing this smoking hot asari Matriacrh she's a total bad@ss unlike you."

I assumed if she died Liara would've said something. But I always wondered what happened to her as well.

Speculation for Everyone!!! But seriously its implied that she died just like the asari in the hospital is assumed to be talking about Joker's family on Tiptree, but we don't know 100% for sure. At least I didn't see anything about that purgatory thing, I will check on my next run.

Can't edit posts on my mobile phone apparently, I personally believe she is still alive, she is way too badass to be killed by cerberus goons, even if Lang is there in his plot armor.

No... There's a sidequest Asari in the Embassay that implies that Aethyta is helping her organise Asari military assets for the War.  You overhear the conversation after the Cerberus coup.

There was also that argument you could take part in between the C-Sec guy and the bard owner (C-Sec wanted security camera access). The owner said one of his employees got hit by a rocket when the attack started, scorch mark is around there, too.

Wondered that myself. I sure hope she didn't die. After Samara, Aria, and Shiala, she's my favorite asari. Would definitely like to see more of her or at least get concrete clarification if she truly died or not.
