I know theres already a topic on this but it has since been derail thanks to "The Anrgy One" getting into some stupid Feminisme BS... (BTW The Witcher is based off of Novels. Therefore your argument is and will always be invaild.)

Have you even read Sapkowski's novels? He's left winger and his books contain also feminist issues. While Witcher the game (first one, don't know about 2) turned into a game about scoring women and "subjugating" (exactly such word in polish was used) one strong female character.

As Sapkowski said, he cuts off himself from everything that is in the game and won't take game story into consideration if he decided to write continuation.

^Really? You're telling me th WHOLE game is dedicated to going around Collecting as many sex card as you can get? You obviously never played either of the games..... And if you have please decribe to me what Geralt does in the very last scene of the first game that carries over into the second.

EDIT: Maybe PM to aviod spoliers for the people who are gonna play the game now

There is nothing to add.
Now they only need to make a nice Sci-Fi game with Geralt :D

They've made two games. Give them some time to grow and they'll do something you didn't like, but someone else asked for, and you'll rage and find another company.

^Lol idk about making it with Geralt, but for sure would love to see their take at a space opera.

Idk what their new IP is about, but its called "They". I hope its good ^.^

EDIT: just read the plot for it.... kind of lame, but it was orignally from another developer that CDP bought out So hopefully that put a different spin on it lol

CDProject is good, but really untested in the long run thus far.

I've been pretty well impressed by what they've managed to produce, but I was about BioWare as well before this.

I give them credit for sticking to their guns about adult themes and content, but time will tell. I've been scarred a few too many times to let myself give into hype that easily.

Have only seen two games from them, both being the same pretty much, and frankly they were un impresive with no likable characters and rather questionable views on gender and equality.

However GOG is great and companies should look to this as a standard for delivering game content.

For the love of god people. :) Please stop assuming that just because there is racism (and stuff like that) in the game, that somehow this is the views of the developers on that issue. It's not Bioware game, where you have very distinctive good/bad sides, where game always trying to push you in the "right" direction. Witcher's world is a mature world for mature people. There is no good or bad sides, there is no "right" way to play through the game. You have to decide for yourself what is good, and that's why this game is great imo.

And btw, sex cards? Really? Posted Image No one forces you to collect them, you know.

I'll wait until they write a story that isn't based on Polish fantasy novels before making this judgement.
Sci-fi at that.

But yes, witcher 1 and 2 are still favorites.

CD Projekt are their own company with their own style and own ideas I doubt they need or even want to be named 'the new bioware' They will develop in their own way under their own steam.

CD Projekt is a good company.

Too bad I hate their games because they're way too grimdark, edgy and their universes are generic.

For guys, maybe.  A game that includes... sex cards... just isn't my thing.  Sorry.

Edit: Ah, I see this has already been touched on.  Mea culpa.

Get off the sex cards. Thats witcher 1 back in 2007. we are talking about witcher 2 now 5 years later no sex cards...

No, heh, I won't get off the sex cards.  They're hilariously bad, and so are the "love scenes" that precede them.  I understand how Geralt's wooing ways might appeal to teenaged boys, but I'm a grown woman.  The lovin' in either Witcher game is a joke, and more than enough to prevent me from taking either game seriously.

I'm sure it's fun and all, but... Nah.  Not for me.  And CDP is certainly not another BioWare.  BioWare, if they care about nothing else, does care about the diversity of its fanbase.

^No you just sound like a women that has identity issues to get offened over a FAKE story. BTW sex card are only in the 1st game, and they are optional. It's not like your forced to screw everything in the game....

And in the 2nd game you'll find out the sex scenes, while remaining optional again, are done very tastefully.

^The first Witcher should. It's kind of old xD lol

My computer is crap. I was amazed that ME3 would run at the proper resolution and smoothly at that. Especially considering how ME2 gave me quite a lag in shadow-heavy areas like Tali's recruitment mission and at the very start of Jack's loyalty mission. SWTOR is also not running very well on it. :)

Ouch man well if you can run ME3, you can for sure run the first game if you wanted to play it. However, the second game is very hardware demanding lol

Eh, they have a way to go. I could never get through the first Witcher, and while I beat the second, and enjoyed it for the most part... it didn't hook me in like some other RPGs. I've found that I just don't like playing someone else's character. Geralt is cool and all, but why can't I be a female Witcher? Also, the companions are so annoying.

Aside from the Witcher 2 they haven't really done anything of note. The Witcher had multiple bugs and very strange writing, as well as numerous "versions" that included seperate content based on what pack you bought. With the "best" version only available in Poland. It was an OK game, but it was not until Withcher 2 that people suddenly "loved" CD Projekt.

This reminds me of the

"XY is the new Callas!" nonsense I have encountered over countless sopranos over the years. None of them lasted.

For what it's worth, I like 'em both.

And how is this ME3 Story & Campaign related?

Just trolling Bioware, I see.

Well if games are going to grew they are sure as hell going to haved to stop lamp shading issues like, Religon, Sex, Gender roles  Racism,   Morality, etc, etc in their story telling just because  people get uncomfortable with those  issues.

I think CDProject is doing a fantastic job and I look forward to what the future brings. I think they have set a very high bar for themselves and other gaming companies with the massive free dlcs that they have given for both games, as well as the outright quality of the games themselves.

As for the character being so fixed - Planescape Torment had a fixed character and is considered by many to be the best RPG ever. While I personally want to be able to customize my character as much as possible (Race not just gender dammit!), I can live with a fixed character if it is done well (it is just not my character).

I do hope that they leave the Witcher and move on to other settings, as I think becoming a 1 trick pony is a waste of the talent they have.

I hadn't considered that choosing to avoid a game based on the flimsy way it depicts and treats women was indicative of an identity issue.  Can you tell me more about this identity issue I may have, so that I can find an appropriate therapist to deal with my womanly deficiencies?

No, I'm pretty sure the sex scenes in both games are pretty hilarious.  But I'm aware that it's likely a subjective thing.

They should  leave the Witcher after  3... and try something new, I say... 3 is enough.
