CDProject is good, but really untested in the long run thus far.
I've been pretty well impressed by what they've managed to produce, but I was about BioWare as well before this.
I give them credit for sticking to their guns about adult themes and content, but time will tell. I've been scarred a few too many times to let myself give into hype that easily.
Aside from the Witcher 2 they haven't really done anything of note. The Witcher had multiple bugs and very strange writing, as well as numerous "versions" that included seperate content based on what pack you bought. With the "best" version only available in Poland. It was an OK game, but it was not until Withcher 2 that people suddenly "loved" CD Projekt.
^Not true. CDP has always been about given away new content they come out with to their fans who may have bought the game before the content came out.
Name one content for the witcher that came out? Cause I don't remember any such thing. Witcher 2 and the whole removal of DRM is what won the fans over, and that happened a mere year ago.
Just one?
"Director's Cut
CD Projekt released a
Director's Cut version of the game on 31 July 2009, for the North American market. It is equal to the
Enhanced Edition available to the rest of the world, but without the censorship applied to the North American version.
[39] For the moment it is only available online.
[40]
The company has released an official uncensored patch that makes the
North American version the same as the international for those who have
purchased a boxed version of the game. It can be found at Thewitcher.com[41]"
Also every patch in the Witcher 2 added content.
"
CD Projekt RED later released new patch 1.3 which includes a plethora
of fan-requested improvements, including difficulty adjustments for the
game’s Prologue, support for a variety of aspect ratios and a host of
other gameplay tweaks and fixes.
Next to the long list of changes, this
update also brings along free DLC — a quest called "A Sackful of Fluf".
[43]On August 10, they released a hotfix 1.35 addressing certain issues
that might have been caused by the Patch 1.3. Major problems addressed
by this hotfix include: shadows not being displayed correctly in 3D
Vision and Steam achievements not being registered.
[44]On September 27, CD Projekt RED released changelog for the update version 2.0,
[45] which was released two days later.
Three big features are added by The Witcher 2 2.0, including the new Arena gameplay mode, in which players can fight it out with waves of enemies, a new Tutorial system that slowly introduces all the complex systems used by the RPG, and a special Dark difficulty
mode, which offers a proper challenge to players as well as unique
rewards in the form of Dark items. The patch also brings a variety of
improvements and bug fixes,
from the overhauled targeting system to
enhanced parrying, which is no longer dependent on the amount of Vigor,
as well as plenty of other things.
[46]On January 27 2012, CD Projekt RED announced an "Enhanced Edition" of
The Witcher 2 via its sister company GOG.com, which is due to be released on April 17 2012.
