1. StarChild

Still don't understand the decision to trivialize the Reapers in the last minute when they have been the the beings of incomprehensibly immense scale until that point.

2. Harbinger.

Should have been the main antagonist of ME3.
Instead we got TIM.

Seriously, what was the purpose of ME2 and all that development which seemed to lead to a fateful battle against Harbinger, if you are not going to include him in ME3 other than that token appearance.

After that ending we can also ask what was the purpose of the whole trilogy ... *sigh*

The statement says that it's just giving me more of what annoyed and upset me in the first place. Jessica Merizan's tweets hinted that it could be better than that but the official announcement seems a big case of Missing The Point Entirely.

Harbinger is like the mail man, he may bring the bad things to you but its not his fault your getting it. In this case he is acting on behalf of a 'kid' convinced of his self-righteousness and one-sided 'logic' who unfortunately has genocidal technologically advanced machines to carry out his 'logic'.

Explaining the ending won't work. how about putting 'and they lived happily ever after' following each ending type, it'd make as much sense as what they already put in.

I hate it that it'll take them so long to do a thing that was supossed to be in the original game all along.

I do not hate the DLC. I do not know its contents.

I hate the fact that they have out-maneuvered us. This is an example of brilliantly ruthless PR tactics. All because of one magical little word; Free. Its stopped us dead in our tracks as there's little way to argue against something we're getting for free.

Nah, it's not killed our argument one little bit because it doesn't sound like it'll address the majority of issues we've got (I'd love to be proved wrong but the announcement and FAQ seem to suggest otherwise). The only people who think that gives them ammunition against us are those with little logic. So what if it's free? The content matters too. From a story point of view it matters far more.

people said they wanted a "new" ending... not just taking the same terrible ending cut scenes and making them a little longer... FAIL

... It isn't what we asked for, and most likely won't address a lot of the issues I have with the ending.

Well maybe it's that we really want is a proper indoc theory with a final battle with harby and pals. And an epic climatic scene(s) that show how our choices pay off. What we are getting seems to be a few tacked on cutscenes. These are gonna have to be pretty special to convince me and indeed many others that bioware has truly listened.

I have to agree 100% with Jenonax here. They managed to find a way to would silence and divide the opposition (look at the in-fighting and changing sides), regaining the support of the media at the expense of any remaining protestors. How many outsiders are going to know the issues well enough to see anything other than that EA are doing something for their customers for free and the customers are still complaining?

So no, I don't hate a DLC I haven't yet seen, and as unsatisfied as I am with the prospect of it I think questions like this are a little excessive and the kind of thing that's just going to paint protestors in a bad light.

1-Kills any chances for a new ending dlc
2-Explaining any part of the last 10 minutes without using space magic is impossible. People have been arguing about this for an entire month, if such an explanation was possible someone would have come up with it.
3-I feel like they're going to add some epilogue parts that will make things brighter to shut people up, but again I'm afraid these parts are going to involve even more space magic.
4-This whole thing just feels like a PR move in the hopes of saving the day.

Basically problems with the ending run so deep that I don't believe an extended edition can save it. At the end of the day it can probably salvage some of the problems but the ending will still remain bad.

Just curious. Why do you hate a friend for making an awesome meal with bitter desert who is still feeding you?

Probably because I had to pay him 60 bucks for the meal and 10 for the salt.

AND then it shows that CRITICAL MISSION FAILUREEEE screen WITH THAT DUNNN DUNNN DUNNN song and then roll credits...

And you know this how? Tell me how is the hurricane season this year?  Bioware could pull off something amazing with this DLC, which is FREE btw. So lets give them a chance to fix it hmmm?

I write lots of star gate fan fiction so i know what i'm talking about... and I was planning to write some Mass Effect fan fiction... but then i saw the ending. No more relays means no more intergalactic space travel... which means any kind of further mass effect story line is virtually impossible to take place after the ending of ME3... the only possible additional mass effect story line is now Limited to prequels and you know darn well you don't care about the before before times... You don't want a game about the first contact wars or krogan uprising or whatever... U just KNow u don't freakin care about the possible Pre ME1 storylines because knowing that its all gonna amount to 1 little Blue Troll kid ruins it for you... I'll write some more star gate stuff then finee pffft.

Because I have  been playing  BW games since the original Baulder's Gate.  Up until, DA2 and the last 10 minutes of ME 3 their games have been uniformly fantastic. I have faith that Bioware will pull this out, especially given the backlash against the original ending.  they have every motivation to get it right. That being said I am not prepared to defacte all over something I have not yet seen.

I won't say I hate it because I don't know how much they will add and if they will change anything or not.
What I can say now is that this stinks. And my expectations are low.

only just read the post giving som evague details of it. my problem is that it doesnt address the issue

the fans arent happy because the endings completely disregard the past 5 years and hundreds of hours that fans have invested in the story, adding some new cutscenes or details about an ending thast no one wanted isnt going to fix anything

This...

And if they absolutely must leave starchild in it.  They should really give us a 4th option which is to defy the starchild.
At this point Shepard attempts to manually override citadel controls... causing it to 1) send a signal to temporary disable Reapers, completely removing their shields.. allowing sword & hammer some time to do as much damage as possible... or 2) initiate self destruct sequence to destroy the all nearby reapers.

The endings will very much depend on our EMS at that point of time.
