This!

And seeing all those mods and efforts for HD texture packs, I wonder why nobody tried to convert the old ME2 textures to ME3...

I tried already myself but I´m not familiar with the Unreal engine and its compression formats and all that stuff...

The one thing I managed to do, is to swap the default custom skin of my femshep, with the skin texture of ME3´s default femshep and I can tell you that textures like the iris and the skin can change the whole "feeling" of the very same headmodel!

Did you manage to get the ME2 irises back?  Could you please post screenshots? :)

What I'd like to know is how people got the glowing blue TIM eyes in some of those pics the OP posted.

It's a setting that can be added via Gibbed.

I wish my default ME1/2 femshep looked the same, the fact that you cant even import default femshep properly shows she's still an afterthought to Bioware

One of my reconstruction face attempts that I made to more closely resemble what my ME2 character should look like is not backwards compatible with ME2.  This is what happens when I take this ME3 code and put it in ME2.

Creating a ME3 face with the intention of starting a new character with a consistent face may not be possible.

[Edit] Fixed image example.

Ok now this is where it gets F**ked up!! Look at my import in ME3 if I chose an earlier save file from the same Shepard in ME2:

I not only do not get a male Shepard who looks nothing like my Custom, no Bioware wants to add insult to injury of having paid for this abomination software by giving me a female head FFS!!!!!

That's the most off -the-wall import I've seen yet...this face in game with Mark Meers voice over.

By the by, if you're willing to give your face code when posting pictures, that would be great. It is absolutely not required, though, I understand some like to keep them private.

Incidentally, is there anyone who'd like to do a statistical analysis on the codes that we do have to see if any particular fields seem commonly troublesome?

Here is my code -

Your ME3 conversion looks pretty, but yeah...not remotely the same.

Pretty, but not even remotely as hot as my ME2 shep.  And despite being pretty, she was so completely derpy in game that I couldn't even use her.  So sad.

I think we need a "Revlon" DLC. The eye shadow colors in ME3 are much too light, they're practically invisible, and the heavy eyelashes of the first two Eye Shape options have gone bye-bye. I loved my Adepts smokey eye look in the first two games, now she looks like she's ditched the makeup altogether. Moar makeup, plz. And give us a way to tweak the face code in the middle of the game. Really, they need some women on their art team, it's obviously a total sausage fest over there. How else would we have gotten Diana Allers' dress. Only a man could think a woman would wear a dress like that. Especially a "journalist".

This is a prime example of why upgraded graphics aren't always a good thing... seriously, wtf were they thinking?

You'd probably be more likely to notice any problems since he's your guy, but the ME3 face code backport seems to work just fine in ME2.

BroShep has highest likelihood of making it start to finish.

I'm not paying for it!  The Alliance can put in a comped requisition order for my makeup kit on the Normandy!

Not to mention the slope of the buttocks make me facepalm. They just don't look curvy enough to belong to a woman. The downward, relatively 'flat' slope, with a little 'tuck-in' just at the bottom, is man-booty. ._. Too much of the mass is hovering at the bottom - making it look like a combination of man-butt and some... mass.... sitting in her underwear. :x

Hi Everyone.

Mass Effect 3 Patch 2 is now available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. You can see a full list of fixes here. One of the most important fixes was for people who could not import their Commander Shepard face codes from Mass Effect 2 into Mass Effect 3, this issue is resolved with Patch 2 and fans can now import their Shepard’s faces into Mass Effect 3.

I am seeing people saying that even though the faces can import, they do not look identical to how they appeared in Mass Effect 2. While the face codes do now correctly import into Mass Effect 3, due to improvements in things like shaders, lighting, textures, etc they will not look identical to the faces in Mass Effect 2. This was the same situation when players imported faces from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2.  The team has worked very hard to make sure that faces look as close to previous versions as possible. If there are small details you want to adjust, remember you can adjust your faces after importing before you start playing the game.

If your face has significant changes or you cannot import your save, please check these steps:
  • The saved game you are importing should be the final saved game from the end of Mass Effect 2.
  • The saved game should not have been modified in any way.
  • If you are using the correct saved game and have not modified your face code, please report your problem in the Technical Support forum for your platform or contact our Customer Service. Thanks.
