Another vid of the faces. Lazarus from an import and added variables doesn't seem to change anything?

@ThinkIntegral: For me, I think the eyes/mouth are high risk areas that are likely to distort the animations in ways that will detract from the gameplay. Lazarus gave me a better faceshape than before, I left the eyes and lips with the ME3 default with a few gibbed modifications, and merged them. It isn't perfect, but I'm enjoying it more than the original import.
Ah I see. Is that the version of the xml file that woodbyte posted stating that Pheonix52gx mapped the mouth pretty well?

Lazarus XML exclude eyes/mouth
Don't get the super fancy eyelashes, but with touchups to the eyeliner and eyeshadow in gibbed, I'm fine with it.

It was this one.
Like someone suggested I should link all the different available maps somewhere. Just haven't had the time.
Edit #1: Seems Vhalkyrie beat me to it.

I don't have much to offer in explanation, except that the new vertices are very sophisticated and complex. It's unfortunate that the bug has caused a sour note, because quite honestly, I have to admire the construction. They did a really great and amazing job otherwise. I just wish they could have spent just a little more time working out kinks with backwards compatibility. The fact that most everything except the eyes and mouth translates with the hack means it is possible as they are the engine owners.

Agree with you on these points here. The mouth, er rather the teeth, have a lot more vertices. I'm guessing that controls the pull for the expressions? Well I guess in time this mechanical turk of ours will figure it out.

Sorry, Bioware. I still think ME2 had the better lighting/texture/rendering engine. ME3 looks more 'video-game' like. It's a step back from some of the hyper-realism. For instance, with hi-res tex mods (4096x4096), and a cinematic post-processing injector, my Skyrim game is almost like a looking glass into a real world.
Having replayed ME2 recently, I was struck by how well it still holds up against more modern games.

Hah thanks man. That's what I was going for when I made her. ME2 totally pushed it further. Clearly you can see why I want to recreate her in ME3. Alas it wasn't so when I imported.
Also, agree with you on the ME2 in terms of lighting and texture.
I'm gonna spend more time tweaking with Lazarus. I think I might've figured out how to make my femshep more translatable while still maintaining the animations. Back later if I make headway.

Hmmm... I haven't had that much of an issue going from ME 1 to ME 2 and then ME 2 to ME 3.
Most of the differences I noted were minor. The best thing about the ME 3 import from ME 2 is that when I elect to customize my character, I get to tweak my character image rather than have to re-create her from scratch.
To me the actual difference has been the the quality of the appearance. Each version is a welcome improvement over the previous version, at least from my perspective.
Congratulations then on beeing one of the lucky's that didnt use assets that are removed in Me3. Espacialy haircut, eyes nose and more for femsheps. For me it doesnt work.
I would love to see some screenshots from your Me2 Shep and the improoved Me3 shep ( imported).
You know there is a locked topic with 8000+ postings and 150k views full of pictures of shepards that would not regognize themselves if they look in the mirror.
Why did you not set 1 single posting in that topic ?
It strucks me that everyone that is telling that their shepard is the same and even ïmproved obviously is not able to put some screenshots so we can see that it indeed can be better.
I have not seen yet 1 Shepard imported from Me1/2 into 3 that looked better in ME3.
To all my old friends from the old topic and this one. I am working now (having a short break) this moment..
Keep on the good work!
and PS ssssttt Mingolo dont give them PR idea's in this topic.
Take Care Regards from The Netherlands.

Can you please show a picture? I see so many people saying that it was an improvement, but not one of them has shown a picture. But in our case, the first page of this thread has enough pictures of Shepards who come out without even remotely resembling their older selves.Selene Moonsong wrote...

I found a bug on how OffsetBones were being adjusted:
b3.Offset.X = b2.Offset.X;
b3.Offset.Y = b2.Offset.Y;
b3.Offset.Z = b3.Offset.Z;
The Z component of the bones wasn't being adjusted at all. Oops!
Sorry about that. I think besides not properly adjusting the shape, this was causing the animations to loose some of their expressiveness.
I'm going to upload a new version to the downloads section with that bug and few other UI related issues fixed.
Again sorry about that, I must have looked at that piece of code several times but never noticed the error.

I included the base map without mouth and eyes. Wanted to merge pheonix's mouth map into it but haven't had time.

There's once again a change in the eyes, though nothing else seems to have changed. But this time, I'm simply not sure which one is better.

Yesterday i have finished the game with a male imposter Casey Shepard.
I know i cant do spoilers but i now dont even want to play any ME anymore.
I still have Nicole Shepard on Mars in ME3 (the one that Holger made for me after i sended him my savegames)
(She Looks Good and 90% like Nicole from Me2).
I dont know what Tools Holger used but it worked for me. Thank You Again Holger!
You all know that my imported Nicole looked no way like she was in Me2.
Anyway.. I am done with the game for now. I dont feel playing it anymore at this moment.
I have savegames from Me1 Me2 (completed all +all Dlc) , Me3 for Nicole (Until Mars) with Holgers edited Nicole
If anyone needs them just PM me.
Nicole is Level 60 adept Me1, Level 30 Adept Me2, She went the paragorn way (and did all Dlc's)

You all already saw a lot of my screenshots from different angles and positions in tha game but here is a reminder.
Me2

Me3 after patch Import.(and changing hair color and eye color)

and wowie :wizard:after Holger edited my savegames!

All screenshots i have posted in previous postings and also in the locked topic can be used freely if anyone needs them. Tey can also be used for posting in post 1 at this topic.
I didnt try Woodbytes lazarus yet but i will try it as soon as i feel like playing ME again.
Currently i am playing Star Control 2 The Ur Quan Masters again ( My favorite SFgame ever!)
If i can do something to Help just Yell at me in PM!
To Pheonix, Wood, Valck, and Lillitheris and all the others.. You are dooing an amazing Job!
Thank You!
Take Care and regards from The Netherlands ( Europe)
Carry on! you did good.... You did good .
