Alright, seriously, please tell me what it is I'm doing wrong. I deleted all my old lazarus stuff, downloaded specifically the ones you told me to, that you said you used.

My result is identical to the "bad" result I showed you earlier. Pinched features, duckface. Doesn't come out like the one you showed me that you got. I give, I have no idea why it comes out like this every time.

I feel that you might not be doing anything wrong. Just that you have a Shepard with a face that Lazarus can't perfectly tune yet. Btw, the ducklips condition, does it occur in squad screen or in-game?

For example, take a look at my Shepard.

Posted Image

She looks damn ugly in the squad screen, but cute in-game. Though mine's ducklips are much less noticable, either way.

Sucks if yours is one of the very unlucky ones, though.

Oh, it happens in both places.  I showed an example a couple pages back, but that's not even the sideview.  If you view her from the side, the lips literally push out farther than the end of her nose, haha.

I imported my Shep from ME2 again and switched the mouth shape to #7 (it had been #1). I still got the clipping or whatever it is at the left corner of the mouth. No hamster cheeks, although I don't think I had them with mouth #1 either. Even with mouth #7, she still didn't look right, and was getting that weird pursed look when she spoke. Not worth it imo.

The low-res textures are disappointing. Why they would have the male Sheps using 512x512 and Femshep at 256x256 is a little puzzling. Jesus, I think most of the KotOR face textures were 256x256, and that game is 9 years old.

No, that's not what i meant.
It shouldn't matter which facial features you would choose on import in ME3, as they will be adjusted by Lazarus anyway. But Lazarus uses face morph from ME2 save as a reference, and that's the one you need to fix.
Just start a new ME2 game, recreate your face using mouth shape #7 instead of #1, and make a save. Then load this new save in Lazarus and proceed.

btw, broshep is not only using higher res normal map, but diffuse map too (1024x1024 as opposed to 512x512 for a femshep). That's not as crucial though, since 1024x1024 texture for a character's head is a bit of an overkill anyway, unless you're playing with really high display resolution. But still, no love for a femshep's from BioWare it seems.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I misunderstood completely. But my ME2 is a digital version and not currently installed. I seem to recall that it's a sizable download - like 35GB or something, so I don't see it happening.

Something else I noticed in Lazarus - the two head shapes are significantly different. My ME2 head is larger, more round, and the face is quite a bit wider and with a thicker neck. You can really notice the differences around the mouth when you look at them both in profile as well - the lips are quite a bit lower on the face and protrude much less on the ME2 version. It really is amazing how much they screwed the whole thing up.

1) Tried both.
2) Tried with a "created in ME2" and with a "created in ME1, imported into 2".
3) XP.

Sorry for being such a pain over this.  Don't worry, after a bit more muddling and failing, I'll likely give up and stop being a pest.  :)

Nah, not at all.  Personally, I want everyone to have their Shepards back who want them.  If you're willing to stick it out, then so am I.

If I can fix the hair color, would you like to try the headmorph?  Just to see?  I'll walk you how to get it into your game (if you don't know already).  It's up to you.

BTW, I wonder if XP is the problem.  Someone else was having an issue with XP too.

@DoctorEss

I have no idea why would you keep having those issues, but maybe you could just upload your ME2 and ME3 save files somewhere, and someone will use Lazarus on them for you?

Very interesting analysis.  I have come to a similar conclusion.  Except in my case they puffed out the cheeks on my headmorph, so it gives her this cute look.  I modeled her after Lucy Lawless, so the cute look wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

The problem is I tried his facecode on my end, and I end up with a decent match (I think it looks ok, but I understand these things are deeply personal). He ends up with a 'duckface' one each time.

Maybe you could post the facemorph that you get somewhere?

Sure, we can go with that.

I don't *think* XP is the problem, because the error someone else was having was blocking them on loading the program at all.

If I remember right, without double checking the actual post.

Alright. I couldn't get her old skin tone because I don't know it offhand, but I brightened it up from the sickly gray default. Warmed her spec map, and intensified her makeup.  I actually think yours is one of the easier transitions because there's no clipping problems that I see.

Here's what she looks like in game.

If you want to roll with it, I'll upload the headmorph for you to download.

These things are deeply personal, so I won't be offended if you don't like it. FWIW, I think she looks great.

And yes, Shepard squints a lot during the game!  This is true for all of us!

Lazarus (the only thing I've edited using Gibbed is the Hair color, and eye shadow..and I'm using one of ELE's texmods)

Yeah. Bioware....what the hell?

I'm sorry I don't have time to take in-game screenshots right now but here's a ME2 shot of her (I'm not sure if it'll make for a good comparison because of the lighting difference (and I decided to change her hair because I wasn't a huge fan of classy in ME3))

The effort you guys have put into this...I swear you guys deserve some kind of compensation. Thank you all who made this possible!

This gave me an idea. (Hopefully, it's not a stupid one.) How about we start a sort of community service thread where unlucky femShep users who're having trouble could post their ME2 save or face code so that people with free time and are willing to help could try to give back a proper ME3 headmorph?

That's because bioware didn't patch it, they removed the error message. If they fixed it, it would hurt their artistic integrity.

I know why Bioware didn't patch it because it is artistic integrity of Bioware. So, take it or leave it.

And once again with absolutely no thanks to Bioware who are being shown up by the modding community who are doing an utterly amazing job with simple programs to fix Bioware's F.U. Now compare the mod communities amazing work to Bioware and their patch that does nothing. Embarrassed much Bioware??

Artisitic integrity means broken imports, and none of your choices making any difference.

Bioware is so awesome.

Correction: Bioware WAS awesome. Now they are a joke after DA2 and ME3 and the half cooked SWTOR. Can't wait to see how bad Generals II will be.

Your shepards got a makeover due to their being new face proportions and updated textures and graphics. I mean they look similar at least, it's unrealistic to expect people from a game made years ago to look the same in a game created today.

Did you even read the first post of this thread, at least? They did NOT look similar, and it is NOT due to updated textures and graphics. Community members like woodbyte, phoenix and others have pretty much fixed it for most femSheps after a lot of effort. What is Bioware's excuse now? Did the fans rewrite the textures and graphics? Rubbish.

So what was ME1 and 2??? Years Apart. Same Faces. Your argument is invalid. Now go home and sleep on it!!! :D

If anything they should look better than in the previous 2 installments not worse.  I have no idea how its possible that they saw the current character creator, realized it looks worse than ME1 & said "looks good, ship it".

Me too. Which is why I thought of it. :) Wonder what others think of this. I could make a thread, or should I wait for some more feedback? Especially from the people in charge of Project Lazarus work?
