So, I've read the news - no few endings for the DLC, just 'clarification'. While I like the idea of being provided additional clarification and closure, I can't help but feel that adding one last simple ending option would have taken the edge off of the complaints and still kept what they were going after.

That option? To abstain from that choice - to make the choice that you aren't in a position to force any of these options upon the galaxy and to simply to sit down and watch the fight. From there Bioware has options to preserve the setting - they can either let the fleets fight it out and let war score determine how things work out or they can force the star child into making the decision while Shepard sticks to his guns (perhaps with one last parting shot at the star child to make his point).

That's all we needed - a way to say 'none of these choices match my moral code'. Control can be seen as evil as it is essentially enslaving the reapers... and frankly, attempting to enslave them has proven dangerous in the past while slavery itself is seen as morally wrong by most people. Synthesis is forcing people into a union with machines against thier will, taking away thier choice and forcing them into union with a machine is horrible - perhaps worse than a forced marriage (at least your unwanted spouse doesn't become PART of you and you can try to run). While the reapers probably deserve the destruction option, the geth do NOT in the eyes of many players/characters. They deserve the chance to fight for thier freedom, alongside the other sentient races of the galaxy. None of these options fit what most of us have been fighting for.

So, while it may not be feasible to come up with a 'saves the galaxy' ending, please at least let us abstain from the choice. Let the battle or the star child decide (preferably the battle).
