Crysis 2 was an obvious console port, but they actually took the effort to release a DX11 support and HD Texture pack for the PC!

- Let me get this straight...PC gamers can't have fun with a game unless it melts their graphics card? Really?

This is also one my biggest complaints with ME for PC, even Witcher 2 had Xbox controller support, and there was no Xbox version of the game when it was released, ME had an xbox version :S
But I digress, I have rebought many games I ones had for Xbox for the PC, and it is like night and day when it comes to graphics. Consolles are really holding back the gaming industry, it is sad, but sad stuff in gaming is common these days.
And also PC has so much more flexibility, and that is probably the best part, just look at Skyrim for PC with the ability of mods. I can't even think about playing that game without the ability of mods, some of the mods that are out is essential to me now. And it is not only graphics that is the problem, not textures or number of polygons etc, it is the development of AI and more complex game mechanics that the old consoles have no ability of doing.

Will PC's always be ahead graphically? Sure... but some games are just more enjoyable to play on console... AND Vice Versa.
What I don't like is developers cheesing out and not putting their full effort into using a PC's capabilities... that I agree with.

...But they happily take the PC's users money for the game... If you're going to put a game out for a specific platform... do it right.

For example, Fallout 3 on console you have the main game a a few dlc packs, for PC you got the main game, the dlc packs, plus everything that the fan base has put out.
There is also the fact that as far as gaming goes the PC has a game library that no console will ever match (I still occasionally play some 10 or 15 year old games). Baldur's Gate, MOOII, Master of Magic, etc.

What I realized is that it is actually much, much cheaper to be a PC user. Yes the PC in itself is more expensive, but the games, oh the games are much cheaper in the long run.
Steam has constant sales on games every holiday, in general PC games are cheaper, and if I had bought all the games I have on my Steam library for a console, I would have spent at least 5 times more on games than I have so far, probably more. And the fact that I get the same comfort and a big increase in quality and flexability, I laugh when someone tells me that buying a console is the wiser choice.

I was being sarcastic.
If devs could truly achive platform parity, the world would be a happier place. And if CDPR can achieve it with their modest budget ( we'll see ), EA has absolutely no excuse.
But if I had to pick my battles here, I'd say fix up the animations, because they are all sorts of bad.

You're complaining about graphics, which do not have any bearing on how good a game is, and act like consoles are bad for literally no reason beyond "da grafiks dunt max out ma vid card!".Mettyx wrote...

You again? Did a console murder your family or are you just childishly negative towards anything that has to do with consoles?
No, it's just that human life span is too short for a specific hardware to halt all progress for almost a decade.
Also, quite a lot of games are unique experiences and will never be made again.
Please explain to me what is childish about this?
If you had bothered reading the thread, you would have figured out that gfx isn't the only thing impaired by consoles. The storage mediums (RAM and discs) severely restricts stuff like size of areas and actual game mechanics as well. GFX is just one side of it.
And it IS pure laziness/greed from the developers when they don't utilize the power of PCs to make the game shine (in both gfx as well as UI, mechanics and customization). Obviously they care less about pride in their game than they do about getting the fast buck so they can move on to the next product they can get a fast buck with.

These platform threads always devolve into pissing contests.
Yet there's only a few derailing it to that.
The point isn't a pissing contest between players since I couldn't care less which platform each one prefers. It's the problem of developers going with the least effort, thereby not only leaving out the PCs potential but also the stronger versions of consoles. They aim for the lowest and hope everyone else is quite happy to tag along.
