just wondering, im pretty sure modding weapons would be bad but would changing...say...a soldier's weight limit so i can carry 3 or 4 guns without a weight penalty in SP affect the Soldier in MP?
Would editing SP weight and weapon stats affect MP and get me banned?

You can just copy the original file back before playing MP. I'd not risk playing MP with a modified file, regardless of what changes have been made.

true....my file is modded slightly atm, just adding more outfits to the SP part and ive not been banned yet.....but i think the MP relies on the host file...so as long as i dont host.....

I am so paranoid that I umm disable my network connection, then start Origin offline when playing with a modified file.
Then renaming the files as soon as I finish the game

Yeah, same here, but I tend to play offline anyway with or without a modded file.
I don't think anyone at Bioware/Origin actually care what anyone does to their files in single player, even if they're online. I think they only take action if you physically attempt to play MP with a modded file.

Problem is that many variables are global and apply to both SP and MP. Given the number of cheaters in MP I don't think BioWare is watching very closely, but better safe than sorry

I wouldn't risk it, but long as you don't do something obvious I doubt they would pay much attention. I assume they just watch credit logs and listen to fan reports.

Yeah, thats what I mean. I was more getting at the implication mentioned by the poster that he was paranoid about being online with Origin and using a modded file.
For the sake of risk, I agree, stick with a normal Coalesced.bin when online.
