I am here to argue that people on this board need to desperately move on with their lives or more specifically realise how trivial pursuing this is when we consider some of the problems being faced in the greater scheme of the world.
Just consider for a moment what real suffering and what real world problems are:
I present to you Haiti:
http://www.smh.com.a...0404-1wd2c.html
"In the 17 months since Pelette was buried, cholera has killed more than 7050 Haitians and sickened more than 531,000, or 5 per cent of the population".
While you are willing to spend your time and money to try and change a video game, after the developer has already said they're not going to change it, people in the (real) world don't even have clean drinking water.
Another quote from the article:
"He knew the river water was probably not safe, he said, but, while they brushed their teeth in it, they did not swallow. For drinking water, Louis said, his family relies on a local well. But he lives from hand to mouth and cannot afford water purification tablets. So he gambles".
Consider that while you and your lawyer sit down for a discussion about Shephard there are people in Europe who are unemployed at staggering new figures:
"
Spain, whose government announced another raft of austerity measures last Friday, had the highest unemployment rate in the eurozone of 23.6 per cent, with youth unemployment - those under 25 years of age - standing at 50.5 per cent"

Its time for Bioware fans to look outside the bubble and realise that there are more important things going on in the world. Yes you might have spent many hours on this game but that was your choice. There are greater problems in the world that we can spend our time, attention and resources on than a crappy video game ending. Bioware fans I call on you to lay down your arms and have some empathy for the people who are truly suffering!
I'm afraid your argument makes zero logical sense.
The very ugly and cold truth is that altruistic care about people who I will never meet, who will never have any impact on my life, and who are ultimately numbers on a computer screen, is just as much as a waste of time as venting over a video game or having an emotional breakdown over a girlfriend/boyfriend or blowing $1500 on spinners and rims.
You seem to fail to realize that these things you describe have been going on for some time. And you ignore the reality of the situation. The Haitians are in the situation they are in for one reason and one reason only , the complete and totaly lack of resource or developable population due to cultural values. Haiti has nothing other nations want. The lack of drinking water and issues of health and , indeed, issues with both cholera and hospital availability, were being brought up ten years ago and the Haitian government did LESS than nothing.
I am not responsible and refuse to care about the suffering of people who have allowed themselves to become victims.
As far as Spain goes, I'm sorry but this is what you get after 30 years of arrogantly ignoring economic trends and borrowing against an increasingly devalued monetary system.
There is always someone who implies that I cannot simply focus on what is actually of some IMPACT in my life and must instead focus on things elsewhere. You are not suggesting thing because you CARE about Haiti or Spain. You are not suggesting thing because you CARE about people helping people. You are doing this only and solely because you are using these people's suffering to win an ARGUMENT about video games. You are, quite frankly, even worse than the people you are yelling at, because at least I'm honest when I say I don't really care.
Humanity never ceases to amaze. And disgust.
