I was just curious if this is possible and how I would go about doing it. Ive created ...alternate starting gear for my character that I plan on using instead of the default sword and board (human noble). Is it possible to have this armor/weapon already equipped at the start of the origin?

Bump. Curious about this also. In my case changing Human Noble Warrior light armor to tier 1 chainmail.

It's possible; I don't know how to do it myself, but this mod - Obsidian's Nobler Noble - re-works all the human noble starting gear. You could probably DL it and see what he did, then apply it to your own mod (proper credits as necessary, etc.).

In the toolset you can go to core creatures and the do not touch folder then change the gear. But it does say do not touch I found this similar to the history eraser button and opened it the moment I saw it. I have had no issues to this point but the first time I did it I gave my guy gear that needed like 20 strength so my guy walked in on Howe and Bryce in his underwear.

You actually don't need to touch the Do Not Touch Folder. Another way would be to duplicate those models, give them a new name and equipment, and then insert that name into the background_defaults and chargen_preload 2DAs (some information on those can be found here: you would only need to change those two sheets in this case, no need to do the full process for a new background).
