So with all the threads filled with hate, I want to create a thread from the people who are, in fact, happy with yesterdays announcement.

Dear Bioware:
After giving us three amazing games, alot of us were disappointed with how the series concluded. The endings left alot of questions unanswered, and didnt give us the proper closure we felt was necessary after three excellent games that made us care deeply for the characters and universe they created.

This is why last day's announcement was such great news.

First I want to thank all you people who listened to what we had to say. I know you had to endure alot of verbal abuse and  accusations. I want to thank you for not letting the angry few, impact the concerns we had. I want especially thank Chris Priestly, Jessica Merizan, John Epler, Stanley Woo, and all other Bioware employees who have tried to bring our feedback to the Mass Effect team, you all kept your head cool when you needed, and it should be applauded.

I also want to thank the entire Mass Effect team. You poured a decade into this universe, and it was for the most part, really amazing.

Most of all, however I want to thank you for this DLC. You didnt have to release anything, you could have said this was the ending you wanted, and we had to deal with it, and that would have been completely fair.

This was your franchise, you created it, and you allowed our feedback to shape the evolution of it; which is also a huge reason why it is such a great franchise.

And even at the very end, you show us again, that our feedback is so important. While not everyone got exactly what they wanted, you listened, and you responded to the concerns. And now you are working hard to give us content that will require precious time and money on your part, and you are releasing it for free.

We can only judge what you release when we get our hands on it, but regardless of what we think of the results:

Thanks Bioware, for listening.

Say Op, what if the animation extension is just the old guy rambling a little more about his sweet and stuff?

I'm happy. More Mass Effect is not a bad thing in my book. I'm getting a little annoyed from reading twitter though. So many people are disrespecting the people attempting their best to give some sort of feedback, making wild accusations and assumptions with no grounds what so ever.

I'm surprised they haven't turned off their twitter feeds at this point. I certainly wouldn't bother with it if I were them.

Giving us more of the same poorly conceived crap is not "listening."

only thing we need now is for everyone to stop complaining. that would ease BioWares headache and let them do what needs to be done

Ageed. Thank you Bioware for listening. You could have told everyone to stuff it but you didn't . I may not like the ending but I do appreciate the hard work you put into the series. I won't lie I wish it could be IT but closure is more than I thought would happen. So thank you for listening and doing something.

Well since we saw that bioware like to take the easy way out, they either gona expend the old guy, the normandi crash, or the cheering, could also expend the colorfull explosion i suppose.

You might want to narrow down your question there buddy, cuz asking what i would feel about a infinity of possibility wich only mark out the old guy developping give you a infinity of emotionel respond. Going from the top of the ladder to the bottomeless pit of hell.

What if the new dlc contains a virus that is designed to wipe out the harddrives of retakers based on their BSN cache? There's caution and there's unwarranted paranoia.

Assumptions, presumptions and wild speculation. Could just as well be a Dinosaur eating Joker.

Thank you Bioware!

I have played many bad games in my life.  I have spent thousands of dollars on bad games.  Games with a terrible story from start to finish, games with a bad ending, games with no ending, games with laughable voice acting, games riddled with bugs, games that crash, games that are boring, games that are too short, games that are impossible to beat, multiplayer games that everyone cheats on... and the developers of those games barely lifted a finger to try and fix their issues.

Mass Effect 3 is not one of those games.  It's a game I thoroughly enjoyed right up to the end, as did most people.  And yes, the ending left me unsatisfied, but Bioware is at least making the attempt to improve that situation.  Maybe they won't get it right, but they are going to try.  And for that I am very appreciative.

This generation of gamers who are pouring their anger and hate all over this forum have to learn that you don't always get exactly what you want in life.  In most situations, you can rage until you are blue in the face, and nobody will pay any attention to you.  In fact, usually the more you rage about something, the more people want to put you down.  It gets you nowhere in life.  So when someone says, "OK, I'll help you out," you should be thankful.  Even if they don't give you exactly what you want, you should be thankful that they made the effort.

So, thank you Bioware.  Through all of the ungreatful bitterness demonstrated on this forum, I hope you can pick out these quieter voices who appreciate the effort you are making and who have the patience to see what this DLC brings to the story before judging it so harshly.

I disagree, they pretty much did tell everyone to stuff it. The only reason for this DLC is probably to ease the storm during PAX east, and then to hopefully separate the RTM movement.
Not only did we not get any information on whats going to be explained, but they stated that its only a extended cinematic and extra text. And you won't get it till 3-4 months later.
How is any of this a good news to you!

Someone actually created an Epilogue generator based on what you did and what you didn't do. And they did it within a month of time without any financial backing.

IF they just come out and stated or listed the various concerns and explain that they will all be explained then yes it would be an thank you. Otherwise its just more speculation and more unknowns.

Thanks Bioware, don't listen to the haters or Forbes really (out of companies that run sweatshops making Apple Products, companies that nearly crashed the global economy and butt hurt nerds vote EA as the worst company and Forbes encourages them.), I can't wait for the dlc :wizard:

I'm cautiously optimistic about this, and I'm willing to take it as a sincere attempt to patch things up with the fans. I do, however, understand perfectly why people are distrustful, and I won't tell them to shut up. The rhetoric BioWare has used ('clarification" and "closure") has generally been rather condescending. Someone in their PR department needs a little more training in the use of words. Unlike the fans, BioWare has the capability to craft a united front, so the burden of staying respectful falls disproportionately on them. That doesn't mean the fans shouldn't stay civil, but each of us has limited control over the tone the other fans choose to adopt. BioWare doesn't have that excuse.

The delay is good for me since that means I won't be tempted by new ME3 content during exam time and I can use the summer to get a job instead of playing ME3
