Un-Official: "THANK YOU BIOWARE!" - thread

If you do something for someone and they tell you all the things wrong with what you did, you listen to what they say and then decide how you are going to respond. Now, you may totally redo everything you've done, ignore them completely or you could try to find a compromise. So if Bioware had said tuff cookies live with what you got then yes that would have been a stuff it. However they decided on a compromise that may not make everyone happy but will make some happy. Unfortunately noone no matter how hard they try can please everyone. Some will agree and some will disagree, that is what makes life and friendships interresting. Hugs

So with all the threads filled with hate, I want to create a thread from the people who are, in fact, happy with yesterdays announcement.
Dear Bioware:
After giving us three amazing games, alot of us were disappointed with how the series concluded. The endings left alot of questions unanswered, and didnt give us the proper closure we felt was necessary after three excellent games that made us care deeply for the characters and universe they created.
This is why last day's announcement was such great news.
First I want to thank all you people who listened to what we had to say. I know you had to endure alot of verbal abuse and accusations. I want to thank you for not letting the angry few, impact the concerns we had. I want especially thank Chris Priestly, Jessica Merizan, John Epler, Stanley Woo, and all other Bioware employees who have tried to bring our feedback to the Mass Effect team, you all kept your head cool when you needed, and it should be applauded.
I also want to thank the entire Mass Effect team. You poured a decade into this universe, and it was for the most part, really amazing.
Most of all, however I want to thank you for this DLC. You didnt have to release anything, you could have said this was the ending you wanted, and we had to deal with it, and that would have been completely fair.
This was your franchise, you created it, and you allowed our feedback to shape the evolution of it; which is also a huge reason why it is such a great franchise.
And even at the very end, you show us again, that our feedback is so important. While not everyone got exactly what they wanted, you listened, and you responded to the concerns. And now you are working hard to give us content that will require precious time and money on your part, and you are releasing it for free.
We can only judge what you release when we get our hands on it, but regardless of what we think of the results:
Thanks Bioware, for listening.
Ladies and Gentlemen, here it is: The very definition of a brownnoser.
Brownnosers are ultimately self-serving. I find your lack of understanding of the term disturbing.

The extended DLC is a welcome (though not needed) addition to the game.
Thank you.

I also want to thank all the mods and Jessica. They clearly deserve big fat raises for all the sh*t they've waded through over the past month. Thanks for keeping the BSN a happy place to be.

Thank you Bioware!
I have played many bad games in my life. I have spent thousands of dollars on bad games. Games with a terrible story from start to finish, games with a bad ending, games with no ending, games with laughable voice acting, games riddled with bugs, games that crash, games that are boring, games that are too short, games that are impossible to beat, multiplayer games that everyone cheats on... and the developers of those games barely lifted a finger to try and fix their issues.
Mass Effect 3 is not one of those games. It's a game I thoroughly enjoyed right up to the end, as did most people. And yes, the ending left me unsatisfied, but Bioware is at least making the attempt to improve that situation. Maybe they won't get it right, but they are going to try. And for that I am very appreciative.
This generation of gamers who are pouring their anger and hate all over this forum have to learn that you don't always get exactly what you want in life. In most situations, you can rage until you are blue in the face, and nobody will pay any attention to you. In fact, usually the more you rage about something, the more people want to put you down. It gets you nowhere in life. So when someone says, "OK, I'll help you out," you should be thankful. Even if they don't give you exactly what you want, you should be thankful that they made the effort.
So, thank you Bioware. Through all of the ungreatful bitterness demonstrated on this forum, I hope you can pick out these quieter voices who appreciate the effort you are making and who have the patience to see what this DLC brings to the story before judging it so harshly.
ForceXev I agree with you completely and I second your post. All the haters need to go, please go. I just can't stand all the negativity and the bickering going around.

Amen to the OP. I hated the endings, but I see this as a chance for them to redeem themselves and pull something good together. Yes, the endings are terrible, but I'm not sure they're beyond repair. Even working with what they have, I feel like added in stuff to fill the plotholes and an epilogue to clear things up/give closure really will go a long way.
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here. They made 3 amazing games, minus 5 minutes. I know they are capable of creating great things. I also don't think they will make the same mistake twice.
Bioware has my support and goodwill. I honestly think it's amazing they are doing this, and for free at that.
Thank you, Bioware.

If you see this as listening to their customers, just realize that this also could be seen as a way to get off with the bad ending by just adding this here and that here. Oh, and pretty rainbows. Let's hope I'm wrong... just don't get hurt with disappointment yet again.

This. They haven't promised us squat. What are we going to get, a Fallout 3 type ending that further clarifies the already existing endings? BFD. They're not changing anything, they're not making an alternate ending, they are going to continue to insult our intelligence with the contradictory star-child A,B,C, bullcrap. Thanks for nothing is right. Bioware, I hope you and EA have a long and happy life together, until they stab you in the back like they do all their developers.

Yes... thank you for not giving the Retake movement or anyone who expressed issue with the ending and the issues leading up the issue.. anything they asked for or pointed out.
Thank you for the continual 42 plotholes.
The lack of our assets mattering.
Thank you for the lies, false advertisement, and idiocy.
And thank you most of all, for helping me choose to refund through amazon.

You see no one wanted "closure", we wanted BioWare to do what they promised, numerous times, EVEN when the game went gold, they kept making those promises.
They fulfilled NONE.

If you'd like closure while having 42+ plotholes then you're in luck!
BioWare will completely fulfill your desires for closure ala a Fallout Epilogue scene collection.
You will still be lied to and they will have gotten away with it and the entirety of their continuity will still be a **** pile.

I agree. Bioware have done amazing things in the past, and I think they know exactly what is the forums biggest issues, so I think we will see alot of the closure & clearity we wanted (and Jessica's tweets spoiled that much).
I know alot of people are upset because they didnt get the "alternative" endings they wanted, but between the ones who liked the endings, and those who dont - this really is the best compromise.
