It was like Brian said, " If they go through the simulation only to find out that none of the choices really matter wouldn't that just be like a giant middle finger to the audience"
It was as if Casey Hudson said to Mike Gamble after watching this episode, "Yeah I like where Brian is coming from, let's give a giant middle finger to the fans that have supported us and allowed our artistic vision to finally come to fruition. That would be so cool, we could give it a crappy ending, say we would listen to fan feedback, and then totally not listen to the fans or do anything to change the ending, but rather just clarify a few things with extended cut DLC and then give the fans a middle finger with the other hand. It'll be so funny dude and what are they gonna do? Any gripes they have, we'll just say 'It is our artistic vision and we are proud of it' and that will be our excuse to refusing to admit the huge plot holes or change the ending as expected.

Its going to be interesting to see how they can "explain" the ending they gave us.
(Notice I said ending, and not ending(S)).
I can see people getting more upset when the explanations dont make the mark
Me included
