He and Bioware have worked so hard to appease angry fans with the ending.  He even went so far as to make the clarification DLC free but now everyone is being so mean to him.  It must feel so terrible to have your fans turn their backs on you even though you try so hard to win back their support.

Oh they worked so hard to lie to the fans.
Remember: "There won't be any A,B or C endings" "You will get closure." Yeah right.

I'd feel sorry for him if he hadn't outright lied to us...

For Mr. Hudson no. For the rest of BioWare yes.

Mr. Hudson believes the word closure and speculation are synonyms <_<

I feel sorry for the people who keep taking these "Does anyone else feel sorry" threads seriously.

You mean this 'Casey Hudson':

“There is a huge set of consequences that start stacking up as you approach the end-game. And
even in terms of the ending itself, it continues to break down to
some very large decisions. So it's not like a classic game ending
where everything is linear and you make a choice between a few things
- it really does layer in many, many different choices, up to the
final moments, where it's going to be different for everyone who
plays it.”

Um, no.

No. I really don't.

If nothing else, he watched the lightavator go up and everything thereafter and apparently thought it was good.

He lied to us.

And I don't mean accidental lies.

He repeatedly lied.

He didn't even think of this ending himself. He copied it from other sources/games.

I don't feel sorry for him per se, but I have some sympathy. I truly believe he thought everyone would "get" the endings.

Feel sorry for Hudson? No. Feel sorry for the rest of Bioware? Yes.

Ummm considering that it was his statements just prior to release regarding the massive scope of the endings, the lack of a lost ending and that there would not be an ABC ending that actually are a major reason for the riots on the forums . . . nope.

Also, I will feel bad for him if this Extended cut does not deliver... oh boy will I feel bad for him. The backlash will be Tsunami-esque.

I feel sorry he didn't have the ending to the game peer reviewed by all the writers of the ME3 like the rest of the game was.

I do, ME is the most ambitious project in gaming, and was executed well enough to get better overall scores with each entry into the series. Its too bad its going largely unappreciated by fans because the ending of 3 was unsatisfactory. (make no mistake, there is a difference between "unsatisfactory" and truly bad)

I feel bad for him in some nebulous way. The poor guy tried hard but his couldn't quite pull it off in the end and it showed.

With that being said, that while I do feel bad for him, I feel much worse for me and the others like me who feel completely let down by what should have been the epic conclusion to an epic saga.

Nope. Don't feel sorry for him. It's not like he did a good job and we're still not happy with it. His team did a sub-standard job with the ending, and they are only compensating halfway for it. That's like saying someone stole 40 bucks from you but gave 20 back.

No. This is the job of creative directors. They take the risk, they are ultimately responsible for the praise or criticism. That is leadership.

It's so sad because Casey Hudson was on his way to becoming the next Shigeru Miyamoto, a true legend in the game industry. Mass Effect 2 was so incredible and Mass Effect 3 was going to be his masterpiece, but then the ending ruined everything and now Casey Hudson must be so sad.

He needs our moral and emotional support, not our scorn!

if true (which I also think it is - but we can't be sure) this was a mistake - doesn't make him a bad guy though

In mid march I did. Then after his comments like '' Its polarizing'' and his ignoring of the sheer numbers against the ending(98 percent polled) I began to loose my sympathy for him.
