I'd just like him to answer one qeuestion.

Why weren't the endings more "clarified and personal" to begin with?

I think he genuinely believes in what he's doing and, privately at least, may well be absolutely bewildered and hurt at the reaction.

Doesn't change the fact that, for me, ME3 hurls itself off a cliff in the last 5 minutes in breath-taking style and yanks ME1+2 after it

But I don't think Mr. Hudson was trying to get this kind of outcry, I bet he loves the ending(s).

I believe that he believes that Mass Effect 3's ending is great in his eyes. However, after lying and giving false promises about the game, I don't feel sorry for him. He lied, the fanbase called him out on his lies. Instead of 'fessing up, he doubled down.

He and Bioware have worked so hard to appease angry fans with the ending.  He even went so far as to make the clarification DLC free but now everyone is being so mean to him.  It must feel so terrible to have your fans turn their backs on you even though you try so hard to win back their support.

That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that he earned the disdain by lieing to the fans. and that an apology without 'sorry' is not trying very hard at all.

I sometimes wonder how serious your posts are.

I'd not call this trying very hard, and I'd also say it is a problem of his own making. Do you expect sympathy from people when you deliberately kick a chair and hurt your toes?

He is a pompous, self-absorbed serial liar, he can kiss my ass. That was a no BTW.

Nah.

He can feel free to come online at a later date and explain why he chose the current endings/why the finished game didn't match his prerelease hype, and there may be understandable reasons for it all. Then again, I'm not gonna demand he do so.

Like some of the above posters, I feel sorry for the majority of Bioware, who I feel sure put their best efforts into the game. Casey? Well, there's only so much sympathy to go around... ;)

I can forgive a bad ending. I can't forgive how Bioware has been treating their fan base.

Naw, he's a businessman. I can;t say I love or hate him, but he's reaping what he's sown so to speak. He probably had more passion for the series back before ME1 when he and D. Karpyshyn crafted the universe and things just went downhill from there.

There won't be any A,B or C endings and there will be no Reaper off button. We got all of that...

Nope. I don't feel bad for him at all. He's a liar. A proven liar.

I do, ME is the most ambitious project in gaming, and was executed well enough to get better overall scores with each entry into the series. Its too bad its going largely unappreciated by fans because the ending of 3 was unsatisfactory. (make no mistake, there is a difference between "unsatisfactory" and truly bad)

I agree there is a difference. and ME 3 ended truly badly for me. your mileage may vary.

Why would should I? He changed the formula and obviously it backfired. Why change what worked so well?

You mean this 'Casey Hudson':

“There is a huge set of consequences that start stacking up as you approach the end-game. And
even in terms of the ending itself, it continues to break down to
some very large decisions. So it's not like a classic game ending
where everything is linear and you make a choice between a few things
- it really does layer in many, many different choices, up to the
final moments, where it's going to be different for everyone who
plays it.”

Um, no.

After this and this: link

no.

I think the extended DLC is simply a way to pacify the fans, because neither Casey or anyone at Bioware had dropped hint as to what the ending was all about. The game has been out for sometime now, and Bioware could have squelched the entire uproar by explaining the ending to the fans. Was it indoctrination, dream or something else. Explain or give hint to endings meaning BIOWARE! How hard is that?!!
