He flat out lied to everyone. I favorite quote from my family: "If your word is no good, you are no good."

Yes, for him and for everyone else who worked on Mass Effect. No one wants their work to be hated. The ending debacle has likely damaged the pride of the entire development team and stained the good memories they have of the years-long project. As much time as we looked forward to playing the game, playing the game itself, and lamenting the ending, the time and emotion we've invested is minute compared to that of the developers. I can't imagine the stress and lost sleep and unhappiness they've endured in the last month.

He lied repeatedly and in print.

No sympathy for those who deserve none.

Who tried hard?  Who's trying hard?  He promised the exact opposite of what he gave us, and, if official statements are to be believed (though they could, admittedly, be just as big a pack of lies as before, so maybe they aren't), he's not going to do what we wanted, which is to CHANGE the ending.  I have some trouble feeling sympathy for those who stubbornly refuse to do what's right for the sake of misguided pride alone.

Nope! He made his promises, he took his risk, and ended up failing big time and proceeded to keep defending his mistakes. I feel no pity for the guy at all because apparently he doesn't know that sometimes being an adult means taking responsibility when you break something.

And that makes me sad to think about :(

Considering this is the same guy who once tried to excuse the removal of same sex romances in ME2 by saying ME has never had any same sex relationships because Liara and FemShep don't really count... no. He's known for his lapses in logic.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for what could have been a milestine in the young history of video gaming.

I do, ME is the most ambitious project in gaming, and was executed well enough to get better overall scores with each entry into the series. Its too bad its going largely unappreciated by fans because the ending of 3 was unsatisfactory. (make no mistake, there is a difference between "unsatisfactory" and truly bad)

As far as I'm concernend I see the ending as giving up on the original premise.
This very ambitious project was not concluded in a way worthy of it's original scope and ambition.

He and Bioware have worked so hard to appease angry fans with the ending.  He even went so far as to make the clarification DLC free but now everyone is being so mean to him.  It must feel so terrible to have your fans turn their backs on you even though you try so hard to win back their support.

Why that's the biggest pack of hippy nonsense I've seen in a long time.

Casey Hudson LIED repeatedly about what he was selling us, and you're somehow upset that we want him to address his LIES and correct them?

On the other hand, he's managed to make "artistic integrity" a hilarious joke.

Gets some credit for that, right?

Artistic integrity is the biggest Joke in the year.

I get angry and frustrated every time I hear or read "Artistic Integity" or "Artistic Vision" now.

Boy, isn't that the truth! Now we'll have to wait another 8 years or so for someone else to reach the same point.

What's with the trend of making "Do you feel sorry for X?" threads? I don't get it.

But in answer to your question, **** no. He kicked me in the balls and then offered me a melted bag of ice.

It's hard to feel sorry for the man who said that there would be multiple dynamic endings and not some A, B, or C choice. He dug his own grave on this one.

This clarification should have been in the game in the first place.

I feel bad for the entire ME3 team, I'm positive no one woke up one morning and said, "You know, we should really screw over our fanbase by burning the trilogy and all it stands for at the end!"

I'm positive that they thought they were doing the right thing by us, and failed spectacularly in delivery.

That said, they are working to correct it and even that is thankless.

So yeah, I feel sorry for him.

I feel bad for him.

He was instrumental in making Mass Effect that great series it was. I don't like the endings at all, regardless of 'clarification', and I really wish they had been done better - but still, it's a touch uncharitable to ignore the 95 per cent of the trilogy that's really good, and the role he played in that.

He's smart enough to take away from all this the need to really scrutinize any further endings he does with multiple critical sources giving input.

The trend is whiny, hippies that feel sorry for anyone that other people are mad at, even when that angry is completely justified.  I wish LBJ and Nixon had some balls and would have cruched the movement when it was young, and stuck every hippy leader in prison.  The world would be a better place now.
