This clarification should have been in the game in the first place.

Alright but it wasn't, ok!  People make mistakes!  Casey Hudson is living up to it by giving us a free ending DLC so we should stop being so mean to him, forgive him and move on!

Besides, he was rushed thanks to EA's unreasonable deadlines so it's not his fault.  He was probably working 80 hours a week so show some sympathy!

What's with the trend of making "Do you feel sorry for X?" threads? I don't get it.

But in answer to your question, **** no. He kicked me in the balls and then offered me a melted bag of ice.

Yes. He is the prime reason people love this series. Yet he makes one mistake and suddenly people are demanding his head. There wouldn't be ME most of what fans love it for without him.

I feel no sympathy for Liars.

I absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, despise-- no, I loath the existence of every person who straight out promises and assures something, and then actually offers something completely sub par.

Liars. I hate their existence.

for me its not that mistakes were made, because that happens. its the lying prelrease, and now post release.

at first i thought, ok this is a big misunderstanding, anyday now the bbioware staff will lay it out for me, and ill either get it or theyll apologize. As a reasonable adult i expected this.

But the absolute silence on the issue says everyone involved knows what they did and doesn't care, they got their money.

No. He directly told Mass Effect fans you would get "X" and gave them "Q". In my opinion he did it for his own self-serving purposes. He brought this hostility on himself through his own actions.

Now the community managers and forum moderators, yes. I feel sorry for them because they are caught in the middle.

He and Bioware have worked so hard to appease angry fans with the ending.  He even went so far as to make the clarification DLC free but now everyone is being so mean to him.  It must feel so terrible to have your fans turn their backs on you even though you try so hard to win back their support.

I'm sure he's curled up in a little ball on the floor of his office... because all the people complaining on BSN constitute every single fan of the Mass Effect franchise.

BioWare went in the toilet when they signed up with EA. EA is the Harbinger of BioWares destruction.

If you spilled soup on me as a waiter and then does nothing until I threaten to call the manager, and even then you only offer me a napkin to clean it up, will I feel sorry for you?

No. Casey Hudson's arrogance and unchecked thought processes ruined ME series for me. I will not feel sorry for him.

Having said that, no need for verbal violence here. That's over the top.

He should quit then, if he has any of this "artistic integrity" he so admires he would have been out of Biwoare and EA long ago. End of the day, money talks. Doesn't make him a bad person, but it also doesn't make him sympathetic.

You mean this 'Casey Hudson':

“There is a huge set of consequences that start stacking up as you approach the end-game. And
even in terms of the ending itself, it continues to break down to
some very large decisions. So it's not like a classic game ending
where everything is linear and you make a choice between a few things
- it really does layer in many, many different choices, up to the
final moments, where it's going to be different for everyone who
plays it.”

Um, no.

After this and this: link

no.

Wow, is that real?  I thought i'd read everything.  That's incredibly damning.

Well I love ME but the problem is they still won't admit they were wrong. Man up and say hey look we lied, we wanted to have a vast set of ending but we couldn't pull it off we should of told our fans this before we released the game and we didn't we're sorry and will try to do better....but they won't they don't understand that they lied they just see it as the work they put in and high ratings for the game.

I don't feel sorry for Casey but you know I feel sorry for?
Rest of the team, their amazing game will be remembered only with the lies & controversial endings.
Awesome scenes like Mordin's death will be followed by BUUUUT the endings were a mess. We will never praise the game as much as we like because of one man's "artistic integrity".

I do feel a little sorry for him, yes. Maybe he played a big part in screwing up the ending, maybe he didn't. Either way, it doesn't justify the outright hatred everyone seems to feel towards him right now. Picking apart everything he ever said before the game came out as though every sentence is some kind of unbreakable contract. Did he misrepresent how the game would end? Yes. Does that make him an evil human being who lies to and screws with his company's fans just for fun? No.

And besides, none of us know what really happened at Bioware/EA--how this ending came to be, who exactly is responsible, etc. All we have are a lot of contradictory speculations based on twitter posts and so forth. Blaming one or two people from the outside like this, when we have no way of knowing how responsible they are, is pretty shortsighted.

A mistake is one thing. Not swallowing his pride and fibbing at the same time destroys any sympathy I may have had for him. He's just a PR goon now. .

What exactly has he done for everybody?  Stick stubbornly to his and Mac Walter's non-peer reviewed ending out of pride and an unwillingness to see the mess in front of him?

Unless further details prove otherwise, all you're getting from this extended cut is two slices from the same crap sandwich instead of one.

Looks at what he stated multiple times in interviews, looks at what he then delivered.
No.
I do feel sorry for the rest of the writing staff.
