ME2 was only free to ppl who bought it new.
They are just trying to make the PR nightmare be forgotten with "free " DLC chances are this was originally going to be paid DLC

@Super.Sid I was wondering the same thing myself. Clearly the MP aspect wasn't a troll then. If 'The Truth' was also legit, d'you think we'll still get it now we're getting 'clarification' dlc instead? I worry

I'd rather they release a patch for the import issues. That's more pressing to me than some guns or characters or whatever for their attempt at Gears of Call of Mass Effect Duty.

SP DLC takes a lot longer than MP DLC. Plus it's pretty obvious that we'll eventually get a "Retake Omega" DLC since it's heavily hinted at in the Aria comics.

Note the word pacifying here. As in, trying to shut people up so they can forget why people are so unhappy right now. So that the problem goes away and nothing really gets fixed, beyond 10 minutes of cinematics tacked on to the ending.
