I'd say the only thing the new forums have going for them is that they're faster (there's less of a server load now) and you can upload your character. Though I'd rather upload an image from my computer, which is what every other forum I'm part of lets me do.

I kinda disagree. I liked the old forums because they kept the portraits inoffensive and always made you chose something from a decent palette, although the more options were made available, the more I wish I had more options as well. With this, I at least get some control of variety if I want to.Maria Caliban wrote...

Though allowing people to upload avatars willy-nilly, I fear will cause some people to really abuse it to the point where we wish to go back.
Just my 2 cents on this.

I'm curious to know what you think is so much better about these forums than the BioBoards.RiianTheBrute wrote...
I like this forum so much better then the old.
To be fair, it is just a beta. The bugs are annoying but if they're ironed out within a reasonable time period it's not that big a deal.Maria Caliban wrote...
I wouldn't call it improved. The format is off, nested quotes are broken, there's no way to tell if a developer has posted in a thread, and the Dragon Age forum uses the same scheme as every other one.
Except for the response times I don't really think it's an improvement either. It's too much instant messaging and too little forum.

I agree. The BioBoard portraits always sort of fit in. I can definitely see that it would be nice once in a while to be able to use a custom one but it's too easily abused.

It just looks kind of different plus you can do some nifty things. I will move on over here, it's not like I am going to be a supremacist and say the old ones were better. This is still in BETA stage though, so I am curious to see what they will do with it. I want the BioWare dev tag back.

So, if big swords is over-compensating, what does that make dual-wielding?

More worrying is if a 2 handed sword can lop a fellow in half within say..5-6ft? and is overcompensating then whats a mage who can crush a guy to paste at 150ft?
