I am currently replaying the trilogy on insanity-difficulty.
Here's the situation: In Mass Effect 1 I raged once, set the difficulty back on normal, still died a few times and turned off the console. Today I started playing again like nothing happened, on insanity. Do I still get the achievement?
I never saved the changed difficulty...

Isn't there a ME1 forum?
Anyway, as long as you didn't save, the game shouldn't register the change. I did a similar thing with the lunar mission for the Hardcore achievement.

I went for the hardcore achievement and gave pretty quickly (as I did with the insanity achievement on ME2).
I decided that enjoying the gameplay was more important than a few achievements. And yes, I DO suck at these games.
