You are the only person demanding proof. Which is why I blatantly ask that you go and find the answer yourself as it is impossibly to prove anything as of now.

Someone stating that they believe the universe to be infinite is one thing. Demanding proof without providing exposition is simply being rude. Instead of demanding proof, you could simply have written that you disagree but accept his point of view.

I disagree with him, I don't know what you mean with "accept his point of view" though.

He has made a claim: "Universe is infinite in size". Then he is using that first premise to come to conclusions about the universe, but he fails to prove his first premise.

I'm sorry but when someone makes pretty outrageous claims, saying "go and find some evidence on your own" just wont cut it. That's not how science works.

There is nothing wrong with making possibly false statements aslong as they are thought to be true. When you oppose a persons beliefs then it is your responsibility to clarify why said statement might be wrong.

We can't run around and second guess everything we say or write ourselves since that would prevent us from getting anywhere in the first place. We all work with what we know, and if someone has a deeper insight into the topic, then they should by all means share their opinions and thoughts (if they want) while keeping a civilized tone.

I only brought it all up because you seemed to demand that he proved his statement right, when you could instead have explained why you disagree.

P.S. I probably should have explained what I mean right from the start, but as I said it is difficult to question our own actions without outside intervention.

It is absolutely not my job to tell anyone why their claims about the nature of reality are wrong.
It is, in fact, their job to provide evidence for their beliefs.

Humanity has (almost) always functionend the way it does. We constantly attempt to outdo and disprove eachother, which to our great advantage has proven to be a very constructive way to advance our race as a whole. Again, simply claiming that someone is wrong won't accomplish anything. It won't change or have a lasting impact on the way they persieve the world or the information and knowledge they come across.

If you don't want to disprove or help him understand your own side of the story then why bring it up in the first place?
What purpose does it serve to simply claim that he is wrong when you are unwilling to provide an alternative to what he believes to be true?

I did not claim he is wrong. I challenged him to show why he thinks that the universe is infinite. There is a suble difference.

If he can't prove it, then I hope he realises that and admits that he was wrong.
On the other hand, if he can prove that the universe is infinite then wow, I have aquired new knowledge from this conversation and he can go and have a Nobel Prize for this gargantuan discovery.

if there is life out there it is possible, yes, but the problem is to get there  i would say we would only achieve that in the next 100 years...IF we dont blow ourselves and earth with us.

with our current situation is hard to belive we ever gonna make far enough to reach another planet.

i think ppl should start to focus outside of the globe and less inside.

society as we know is starting to deteriorate not because i think of it as a personal opinion but because only now we seeing some changes around the globe, but not good ones..

Europe is under a economic and revolutionary crisis.

North America is going political shifts again.

South America and China are being focused as the main focus of resource and cheap labor.

dont get ofendend on what i`ve said its just things that if we look cleary you might agree at least with 1/3 of what i mentioned (this is just my opinion and feel free to speak your opinions about that as well)
