Bioware is not a single consciousness. I'm sure there are members of the MP dev team who hate the ending as much as we do.

If this was intentional.

And if it was, we need to find them, and put them in charge.

The team that can make this to mock their own project's flaws is the team I want leading.  One with a sense of humor, and the quirkiness of what the franchise is.  The guys who can put together Blasto (future Multiplayer option, just watch) and Shifty-Looking Cow.

In the meantime, I have a desire to send these guys cupcakes.
