Faces still dont import properly.  I have a male shep from ME1 that imports with a COMPLETELY different face than what he actually has.

My ME1 face vs the ME3 import face.  These are COMPLETELY different and the bug is still exactly the same as the demo, as when the game launched.  I dont get an error message, but I still get the wrong face.  :(

This was taken a day after the patch broke, and its still an issue.  I dont get an error message, but the faces I get from ME1 are completely off.  ME2 was able to display your correct face, surely that me1 face data has to be floating arround the save file somewhere.  The facecode at the pause screen is the wrong code, even in ME2 that code will give a different face than the one I have.  This is important and Bioware needs to figure out how to fix it.

The Male Shep on the right is the one I get as well when I try to import...:crying:

If some of you can't pass the "Connecting to EA Servers" message...
I solved the issue by deleting the cache and by deleting the two installed disks...
Don't know if it works for everyone...

I tried importing my ME1 Shep post-patch and it works fine. Aside from the wrong hair color he looks the same as in ME2.

Maybe this issue people are having has something to do with face codes generated by the MEtools website? That's my geuss, I'm no expert so if i'm wrong just ignore me.

One lock up at "connecting to ea servers" on the 360, litterly as soon as I pressed start after it downloaded the patch.
If it helps it's an old pre-hdmi 360 with 120gb hdd and disc 2 installed. Hard wired to a router.

I have never used METools for making face codes. Those are natural, pure ME1 faces. my femshep and my prickshep (That maleshep i basically play like a ruthless man all the wreckless abandon of a zapp brannigan but with none of the stupid.  Pretty sure he got terminator face in ME2 before horizon)

The one on the right is the broken default shepard, i've seen it around before, it essentially means that either you tried to force ME2 to give you a face code by doing the custom back to import face trick, which creates a broken facecode, or your shepard just hasn't imported right.

Patch = fail. Never got an import error to begin with, just some imposter. And he hasn't disappeared since the patch.

On XBox and the second time I loaded it up it crashed connecting to EA servers, but has been fine since.

It imported my Male Shep fine apart from the fact that he seemed to have grown hair. My Female Shep however was very different but I was able to tinker with her enough to match her ME1-2 appearance.

Getting so tired of waiting fro BioWare to tell us why this patch didn't fix the face import issue like they said it would.

But then, since they refused to actually tell us what the import part would actually fix, it wouldn't surprise me if it was intended to just remove the error message... in which case they could well claim it did what was intended.

FIX THE DAMN THING FFS!!! OR HAVE THE BALLS TO ADMIT YOU CAN'T!!!

...sorry... returning to the sea of calm now... I am Locutus Of Borg once again... Ohmmmm...

Afteri downloaded the patch on 360, I got a face that was similar, but still had to change the eye and mouth shape, the hair color and the facial hair. But after I changed it, the face was nearly perfect.

I haven't downloaded the patch yet, I assume that's a wise choice at this point?

Hi Everyone.

Mass Effect 3 Patch 2 is now available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. You can see a full list of fixes here. One of the most important fixes was for people who could not import their Commander Shepard face codes from Mass Effect 2 into Mass Effect 3, this issue is resolved with Patch 2 and fans can now import their Shepard’s faces into Mass Effect 3.

I am seeing people saying that even though the faces can import, they do not look identical to how they appeared in Mass Effect 2. While the face codes do now correctly import into Mass Effect 3, due to improvements in things like shaders, lighting, textures, etc they will not look identical to the faces in Mass Effect 2. This was the same situation when players imported faces from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2. The team has worked very hard to make sure that faces look as close to previous versions as possible. If there are small details you want to adjust, remember you can adjust your faces after importing before you start playing the game.

If your face has significant changes or you cannot import your save, please check these steps:
The saved game you are importing should be the final saved game from the end of Mass Effect 2.
The saved game should not have been modified in any way.
If you are using the correct saved game and have not modified your face code, please report your problem in the Technical Support forum for your platform or contact our Customer Service. Thanks.

No blackouts nor achievement progress resets.

But the face import is still glitched. I have a Femshep from ME1. I am putting off playing more because of this issue and the fact 6 weapons are on the disc now (and DLC) and I cannot access them on the 360 because BW didn't put them in single player.

Did the huge face importing thread get deleted?

So where does one download the patch ? Directly from the game marketplace ? Mass Effect 3 section ?

I ask because I was looking for it and I didn't find it, unless it was the update I was offered when I first introduced the disk, just bought and got the frikkin face import issue as well.

*Is sad*

Nope it is not deleted. it is locked. It still is out there but will go to the older treads each day.
360 pages almost 150k views,  Ppl helping other ppl to recreate their shepards. 3 postings from Chris with no help at all and then......

LOCKDOWN.  (problems solved )

This is the worst customer service i have ever seen in my entire life.

I am working now , will join the other topic in 5 to 6 hours.

Take care.

There is really no other way to say this, and as annoying as it is to reiterate the same thing again and again.................

...............this is disgraceful.

An issue that should've never been an issue, a patch, delivered late, and that doesn't work.

What. The. Hell !?

I lol'ed. What a load of s***. I really need to take some comparison shots and show the "small" differences in my import. I didn't even mess with my save game or anything.

Same. I had clean imports on my 360, and I didn't get my Shepard at all.

Can I ask a question ? Is the patch downloaded automatically when you start the game ? Like in an update or something ? Or do you have to download it from "somewhere" ?

It downloads automatically when you turn the game on.
