I am one of the lucky few that the patch pretty much worked for. 

However, the treatment of the fan base by Bioware/EA has been nothing short of disgraceful in a customer service sense.

Deleting that thread, though maybe just a small thing, is symbolic of everything they have done up to this point. It smacks of arrogance, as do the few responses they have given about this whole debacle.

I am enjoying ME3 so far, but this will certainly be the final game I purchase from this developer. I followed the ME series from the start, but this means little to them.

Rockstar would not have done this, even Bethesda who some people seem to have issues with, would have sorted the issues much quicker and with much more humility - "Huh?! There are upside down people and the missions keep glitching?" - few days pass - PATCH.

Not sure what happened to Bioware - but they lost whatever they used to be. Sad.

is the whole point of Microsoft taking two weeks for certification to test patches? so like, do they not do their jobs?

I tried importing my ME1 Shep post-patch and it works fine. Aside from the wrong hair color he looks the same as in ME2.

Maybe this issue people are having has something to do with face codes generated by the MEtools website? That's my geuss, I'm no expert so if i'm wrong just ignore me.

You are one of a lucky few it seems. I am envious since mine not only doesn't work right it doesn't even look close aside from the same eyes.

Mass Effect 3 Patch 2 is now available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. You can see a full list of fixes here. One of the most important fixes was for people who could not import their Commander Shepard face codes from Mass Effect 2 into Mass Effect 3, this issue is resolved with Patch 2 and fans can now import their Shepard’s faces into Mass Effect 3.

I am seeing people saying that even though the faces can import, they do not look identical to how they appeared in Mass Effect 2. While the face codes do now correctly import into Mass Effect 3, due to improvements in things like shaders, lighting, textures, etc they will not look identical to the faces in Mass Effect 2. This was the same situation when players imported faces from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2. The team has worked very hard to make sure that faces look as close to previous versions as possible. If there are small details you want to adjust, remember you can adjust your faces after importing before you start playing the game.

If your face has significant changes or you cannot import your save, please check these steps:
The saved game you are importing should be the final saved game from the end of Mass Effect 2.
The saved game should not have been modified in any way.
If you are using the correct saved game and have not modified your face code, please report your problem in the Technical Support forum for your platform or contact our Customer Service. Thanks.

I don't understand how this guy still has a job in PR. If he was working for me, he'd be gone a long time ago, as he seems better at stirring up trouble than simmering it down.

The team may have worked very hard, but clearly there is more work to do. I own a carpet and flooring company. If I was supposed to fit out a clients home in carpet, worked all day but missed out the master bedroom and said to the client: "We're done now. You haven't got any carpet in your bedroom, but because it's different carpet that you had last time, you shouldn't take any notice. We worked really hard on this and we think it's good enough to leave your bedroom with floorboards. If you disagree, be sure to post a message in the forum, where we probably won't see it."

That's in effect whats going on here.

They check how the patch works within the xbox environment, the patch's effect on the game is up to the patch maker.

This patch was barely useful. Out of four ME1-to-ME2 playthroughs, now instead of none of them importing, 2 of them do. Considering how all four are supposed to be importable...

I have not had any problems with the patch, before I could not import my Sheps face at all, now I can. The hair is not the same as in ME2 or ME1 but I just changed it to a similar one.

It did "work" on my Shepards. It's too bad they couldn't manage the flawless import from ME1 to ME2. That they released the game without making sure it's level of polish was at least as good as ME2 still baffles me.

I have been playing ME3 for the last 5 days with my original Shepard. It's everything I've hoped for.
