So I'm looking for another good RPG that will run on Windows 7, aside from NWN/NWN2. Any suggestions?

(oh, and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Though I don't know if it runs on W7.)

Now on my 3rd playthrough and I saved it for the end. And the same thing is happening - I wish I could just skip right to the climax and get the hell outta here (yes leaving XP and all the goodies behind), because it absolutely ruins the game for me.
And that's what makes me sad. Everything else is just insanely awesome.

Orzammar is the taint of this game (for me). I am just finishing up my third playthrough, and as much as I love every other zone in the game, the idea of doing a 4th playthrough right after I finish this one and having to run Orzammar start to finish in the near future makes me want to vomit.

I feel the same way about the fade during the Mages of Circle Tower quest line.

you know what game i really like? RISEN, its really cool to me even though it got average reviews. if you like older games i heard a lot of people raving about a game called PLANESCAPE ARENA, id like to try it some day. also, i stopped by gamespot yesterday and there were 2 or 3 rpgs that just came out, one u can literally turn into a dragon at any time! it looks really cool i just dont think my pc can handle it.
and how the hell did this get moved to off topic?

I found it to be refreshing to switch genres or at least themes every now and then after completing a strong games such as dragon age.
For me, the circle tower main quest was just horrible. in the tower itself everything was smooth and easy and then you think it to be close to the end... BAM you get kicked into the fade. (played as rogue)

Have a look at "vampire blood lines: the mascerade". One of the most interesting non fantasy rpg's out there.

Yes! VTM: BL is an awesome game. The Ocean House hotel always creeps me out.
Anyway. As I'm on my fifth&sixth playthrough (doing it with two charas simultaneously) I can say that I hate the orzammar questline. Way too boring and so damned long!! Also, I don't really like dwarves, soo... yeah.
I actually liked the fade. First I didn't but after a while it grew on me. But still the Dalish quest-line is the best *-*

As for the Fade, it's my favourite, hands down. That's true even though the final fight (in the Fade) lacks something i can't really specify.
Werewolf Lair...somehow couldn't get me interested. Didn't really care who to side with, tried to go the least violent way. The location itself is nicely done though and with some interesting and rewarding sidequests.
All of the three has it ups and downs but i like them all, despite the flaws. Still, like the Fade the most and Werewolf Lair the least.
There's a method to avoid them being too long: do them in parts - do Orzammar City, then go the Brecilian Forest, clear the forest part. Go back, do some of Deep Roads, do the Sacred Ashes etc. It's not like there is a time constraint on every quest, you can do them in any order you like.

BioWare's other games, for a start, though I'm not sure about running games on Windows 7.cipher86 wrote...

The original poster is looking for other games. The purpose of the thread is not Dragon Age-related.KirbySkywalker wrote...
there is nothing "off-topic" about this, since when did our government start running the forums?

I think they should've let you just skip Orzammar and the Mages' Tower--to just have a minimum of two or three allies rather than make you recruit all four. Then when you do play those lengthy, heavy sections, they're a pleasure rather than an obligation.

I was very disappointed with the Witcher. I played the Enhanced Edition, and I thought the only cool thing about it was the sex cards. The dialogue felt terribly disjointed (probably due to translation), and there was too much backtracking/running around. In addition, I found the combat repetitive and stale. I pushed on until the end of Act 3, and when my save corrupted, I just couldn't be bothered to start over again.

MOD: Thanks for moving this to Off-topic, where noone ever looks or posts.
I'd imagine it got moved because the topic of your post is to talk about what other games to play instead of Dragon Age. seems pretty off-topic to me.
Anyway I'd recommend: Risen. The European made games are always a little bit different, and for some reason unpolished and buggy, but past that, Risen is actually a pretty good game. This is the kind of time where consoles come in handy

Each other zone you do a little initial thing with the option of various sidequests in that zone alone, then travel to the big finale. Orzammar requires going from the common district, to the normal floor, to the diamond, talking to someone, then going back to the commons. Frustrating :/
Although, the deep roads was fine.

I tried Risen, and yeah, the lack of polish/bugs... erg.
I also have played all RPGs on current-gen consoles that are worth playing. I think I might pop Lufia II or FFIV back in my SNES and give that a go, considering there really isn't much out right now.... that or finish reading that Poe collection I've been working through.
