OXM loved DA2, and have constantly justified it. If you want proof of how can DA2 is to people then chech out this site. If anything you are a disgrace to BSN, and thats saying something. http://www.popmatter...r-quality-gamesHeriocGreyWarden wrote...

Gaming journalists truly are pondscum.Throughout the panel, Bioware creative director Mike Laidlaw and Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider fielded harsh questions from enthusiastic fans with the help of Executive Producer Mark Darrah. That said, while there was an overt sense of disapproval of DAII, that accounted for only maybe 10% of the panel. The vast majority was a hooting-and-hollering celebration of all things Dragon Age. “It's so great to leave the internet and get back to real life,” said Laidlaw, speaking about getting back to interacting with fans and away from angry internet trolls.
I love how people who are critical of the game are "Internet trolls" and not part of "real life" but cosplayers who account for what - 0.01% of the game audience - are so special and game features must be modeled to suit them. However, it wasn't all smiles and cheering. Several times during the panel, Laidlaw and Gaider had to fend off aggressive questions about the quality of Dragon Age II. “How can [the fans] be sure this wont happen again?” said one fan referring to what he felt was a failed DAII. To which Laidlaw responded simply that the fan should be paying attention to what Bioware is showing about the game, and deciding for himself if he likes it.
No wonder game journalists are so terrible if they think a question like that is "aggressive". Of course they've probably never heard a question a hasn't been vetted and approved and ran through a commercial blender at least a hundred times before being asked.Nearly every fan who asked a negative question to the panel was quietly booed by the outweighing majority (some of whom were in incredible Dragon Age cosplay) of die-hard fans. From Bioware, the tone was of an apology. And from the fans, the tone was of forgiveness. After all, as one fan said when he took the microphone, Dragon Age II may not have been everything the fans hoped for, but it was still an incredible game.
No, it wasn't still "an incredible game". Whoever wrote this is a disgrace to journalism. Journalism is the search for the truth. Woodward and Bernstein are rolling over in their graves.
lso, most of the people actually LIKE DA2,but the ones who don't like it just troll BIOWARE online NON-STOP.

Dear Mr. Self-Appointed Joseph Pulitzer,
Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein remain very much alive and not in graves. Also they would probably find your citing them in this context totally absurd and sensationalist in the worst editorial tradition.

So if specializations replaced one base school, what replaced specializations (Templar/Reaver/Berserker, shadow/duelist/assassin, Blood Mage/Force Mage/Spirit Healer) in companions?Maria Caliban wrote...
I used the mod that gave Merrill the Creation school. I liked the specializations replacing one school for the companions except for Merrill's lack of healing ability.

Hah hah! I guess I am a troll then. Good thing is that this troll can still choose to what he uses his own money. And that will not be another DA2.

It sounds like a trick question because companions had one less skill tree overall than the PC, iirc. But it's been a while since I've played. Might simply be misremembering though.

It's not a trick question. Hawke could have up to eight skill trees. Companions had six. You said the companion specialization substituted one of the schools. So what replaced the other two?Upsettingshorts wrote...

I think wakka is interpreting too literally your usage of the phrase "specializations replacing one school."
He's suggesting that if their unique tree replaces a basic tree, but normal specializations were removed anyway, then what replaced those normal specializations? The answer is nothing, they were cut because BioWare enjoy taking control away from us because they hate RPGs.
But wakka is a filthy Spaniard, and you never really know what those people are thinking, so I could be misinterpreting.

There's nothing wrong with painting DA2 in a positive light, but saying it's "an incredible game" is simply untrue. At best, DA2 is a good game, but it has too many undeniable flaws to be considered any better than good.

Thanks for posting these. Bad enough I don't own the game as yet (-sigh- I know...) despite having played it, but, regardless, I would have damn near given my right arm to be at the panel. While there's certainly a lot of drama going on for BioWare right now, one of the really positive aspects of this is that it appears said drama is going to benefit Dragon Age 3. More so then ever the Team is really trying to open up to the fans, listen to feedback and take it to heart with designing the next chapter of the DA series.
Speaking of drama, another reason I wish I could have been there would have been to give Jessica Merizan a bunch of roses or something nice. In a non-creepy way. She's been through some absolute horse crap from certain "fans" recently but despite all that she came to PAX and the Panel in good spirits and rocked some outstanding Cosplay. She deserves to have been shown how appreciated she is for what she does via her interaction with the community. Sorry, bit off topic there. Nerd Crush.
Still! Really great Panel (Disclaimer: In my opinon. Not speaking for everyone)

I really like the color options for armor and I hope they continue down that line. I think the whole 'changing pieces but keeping iconic look' thing is actually going to be implemented quite well. So far so good on that point.
Can I just jump in and say a big 'wow' to those concept art pieces too! The video is the only place I've seen those and they look amazing. Lot's of color, wide open spaces, unique art designs in each place. Please devs can we have some higher resolution copies of these posted? Would love to look at them in detail.
Great job getting the video, that really injected some optimism in me. You should all take a look at it if you haven't already!

Personally, I have not a real opinion on the issue: I just would like a more interesting and deep item system than DA:O and DA2. For example, I loved the item system of NWN2 since it relied heavily on crafting.
Unfortunately, in the video there is no talk about combat & non-combat gameplay style and that is my major interest on the development of DA3.

I was a big hater about the armor system in DA2 since I thought it was perfectly handled in DA:O, but I actually think I might prefer this way after all (once again, IF they really do it as in the video that is, and don't just suddenly "forget" to implement it in the final product).
EDIT: I also hope that they put a bit more effort in the weapon icons this time around (since they judging from the video intend to keep a similar visual style to them as in DA2). In DA2 it was impossible to see any difference between the icons for 2-handed and 1-handed swords while broswing your loot in the inventory screen.
