not to be negative or anything but did they really need a panel for this??

Maybe not, but is always good to maintain contact to your fanbase, let then know that your franchise is still there, and what they are thinking and so on.

I liked the little bits of info we got from this. I hope to get even better ones in Comic Con (i don't expect to see any teasers on E3, i really think DA3 will only come out in 2014, 2013 i think will be C&C year.).

I thought it was a nice thought. They let us know they are working on something and gave us little bits of information to peak our interest enough to get us talking.

I have a question for Mr Gaider!!! :D
Will DAIII only take place in Orlais or will we also be able to go to other parts of the continent since the mage vs. templars war pretty much involves all the countries in Thedas?
Thank you for answering!

Any panel where I can see Jessica Merizan cosplaying as hawk is a good and neccessary panel in my opinion.

UUHHH WOW! OMG SO GREAT! Announcing features that has been part of rpg games for 20 years! THIS IS SO AWESOME! Letting us do stuff we did in the first game is coming back in the third game! WOW! SO GREAT!  Letting us customize our party members armor! !

Lets clap at things they did in the Baldur gates games! and now are introducing into the third game! But omitted from the second game, because they wanted to sell dlc!

Decisions that matter!

Yes!!

"We will absolutely make sure that's what we're delivering," said Laidlaw, "including your previous games."

Dont even try to do this Bioware. You terribly failed with Mass Effect already. Dont try this  with an IP that is on the edge already.  Choices that really matter fine. My advice it to take a look at Alpha Protocol or the Witcher how to do this.

But Do not try to push the old games into it.

I was thinking about the panel and removing marketing spin and all that stuff, basically Bioware told us that DA3 should have:

- Item Customization.
- Varied areas.
- Choice and consequences.

The positivity surrounding the panel speaks volume about the state of the industry. Basically, we are glad that Bioware is thinking about the possibility to put some elements back in the series in a meaningfull way, when those elements are the backbones of any given RPG and should be just given for granted.

PS: Don't want to troll Bioware... it's just... ironic.

Everything Mike talked about seemed to be a really really good direction for DA3 to go to. I'm liking the whole companion character customization. That seems pretty awesome. I hope they do take their time. A 2 year development should fix a lot of things for the franchise at least. Announcing DA3 for next year's PAX seems like a good call if any.

Heh, for how many games could the developers announce that the sequel is going to be more "French" and get a positive reaction?

Personally, I'm not excited about the new setting. The few Orlesian characters sprinkled around DA1 and 2 were as much of that accent as I could stomach.

then i guess that means you wouldnt like Dulci de Launcet as a companion?

You don't know the half of it. :o   I actually spent an entire afternoon just to search for a better closup to no avail.

On a side note, I really, really do like the current suggestion about the armor system and hope that it  makes it to the final game. Just in case you had any doubts...

I'll see what I can do, then.

Ideally this is the solution we'd choose-- as Mike mentioned, he just doesn't want to make promises on this front, primarily because this particular solution has a lot of systemic pre-requisites that are required in order for it to work. Hard for us to make promises on things that are largely beyond our control (it may not even be a question of resources but feasibility, after all), but Mike wanted to discuss where we envision this heading.

Thanks for the clarification why he didn't want to promise anything then. I had some conspiracy theories brewing before.
