Who isn't excited? Especially since there is Geth, Asari, and Batarians, a freaking Krogan Vanguard, and a Harpoon gun?!?! AND ITS FREE!!!

The DLC is awesome..but it being free is how it's supposed to be hehe. No way it would fly if they made you pay for a DLC and the content would have to be "randomly unlocked"...so you'd pay money to buy the DLC then waste a ton of credit or more money to unlock what you want.
So this way everyone is happy, we get new stuff which is free but you could throw money at it and hope for a quick unlock or just play the game and take your time before you actually have access to it. And everyone gets 2 free maps from the get go.
Win/win i think. Micro transactions, the future :3 I like what they did with the MP...kinda like a F2P model kind of thing.

Basically Ea/bioware are hoping people get impatient and buy the points which means $$$, a DLC can cost up to 9bucks max...points cost you more without a guarantee to get what you want.
