They're fixing the Citadel freezing issue and face import.

http://blog.bioware.com/

  • Fixed issues when in some cases Shepard’s customized facial features from ME1/ME2 may not be properly imported to ME3
  • Fixed an issue when quickly and repeatedly selecting to Resume a
Save could result in Player Level reset and a potential locking of
    powers.
  • Fixed an issue when selecting Multiplayer in the Main Menu while
under a poor network connection could result in an unresponsive state.
  • Fixed a potential crash while accessing an in-game terminal from Eden Prime level.
  • Fixed an issue when attempting to login while Server is down. It
would display a Server Down message and accepting the Server Shutdown
message would shut down the game.
  • Fixed a potential memory crash while loading a Quick Save of a custom FemShep.
  • Fixed an issue when restarting missions and acquiring an above max
amount of weapon mods results in displayed debug text on-screen.
  • Fixed an issue when an unresponsive game state could occur during transition after the Conduit level.
  • Fixed an issue when DLC game saves can be accessed from an account
without DLC if another account on the same computer has access to the
    related DLC. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when saves from different accounts on the same
computer may become locked if one account has access to DLC which the
other account does not. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when potentially the game could enter unresponsive
state when transitioning from the Holding Docks area to the Normandy
Docks area of the Citadel. (PS3 Only)

Makes me worried that the fps issue is not a simple fix...

FPS issues on the PS3 are almost never a simple fix; it's usually down to a company's inability to write code well for the architecture. All of BioWare's games have suffered in the FPS department on the PS3 -- it's especially bad in the first Dragon Age and the Awakening campaign.

Will they fix it? Maybe. Maybe not. If they could get it up to the same standard as Mass Effect 2, I'd be satisfied. But it'll never run as well on PS3 as it does on the 360 or PC.

By the way, what they've described in the fix list is the reverse of the problem most people seem to have: the game locks up when going to the Holding Deck, not when leaving it.

That's odd - mine occured 3 times from going to Purgatory from Holding Docks.

I don't go to Purgatory from the elevator anymore, only go there by choosing that destination on arrival at the Citadel.

I noticed install option for PS3 isn't on the list either :(

lol amazing how people go bananas for some freezing issues but they seem to be perfectly fine with cutscenes running at 15 frames per second as well as gameplay sections performing horribly...

Yeah no joke my heart lifted and sank at the same time. I liked that they fixed the citadel and multiplayer start up lag but the fps issue us hugeeeee. Im worried about the other random freezes that occur in this game as well.

Not every cutscene runs at 15 fps. In fact most of the drops go to like 20-25 FPS. During gameplay the game is mostly 30 FPS.

On the other hand the freezing issue is a lot more serious. Many players have reported that it corrupted their console's hard drive. And generally it's more annoying when you have to reboot and go through all the motions.

EDIT; I'm not saying that it never does drop to 15 FPS. But those moments aren't as prominent as you're making it sound

My first playthrough of ME3 suffered from constant freezing / crashes (like every 2 or 3 hours) on all manner of things - squad selection, cutscenes, entering a new system, etc - while my Insanity run has only experience the Hanar Diplomat bug and nothing else. My first night playing on Insanity, I played the game for 13 hours straight and no crashes.

What I did was delete and re-install the game data, and then, before I put the disc in, signed out of the PSN. For some reason, playing the Singe Player offline has made it run really well. Framerate stays for the most part.

yeah gameplay framerate goes far below 20 fps at the following missions in certain parts.

Earth, Mars, Palaven (the final battle there is simply horrible), Tuchanka (lol at the end both during gameplay and cutscenes), Grissom Academy final battle, London, Citadel (Persidium and the Docks are a festival of framerate drops), every part that involves Shepard using his flashlight means 20 frames per second and less, Rannoch priority mission, and the list goes on and on.

The ps3 version runs at 30 frames per second when there are no enemies on screen or no action... even then the framerate plunges when you are panning the camera in certain directions.

But ok, it doesnt freeze anymore, but still the game is not enjoyable this way... :(

You need to play the 360 version, then you will understand what 30 frames per second means. Or alternatively put Uncharted 3 in your PS3 and remember...

I agree with Valkyre.
Even if these few fixes are useful, no denying that, they don't solve any of the major problems we have: frame rate, freezing online & offline, bugged quests, etc...
For instance ME3 froze to me online more that all the other games I have on PS3 put together over 5 year of gaming on PS3; really once it froze 4 times in a hour forcing me to restore the each time system.
I have even stopped playing online because I can't risk to loose everything I have on my PS3 just to play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

I don't get nearly the framerate hit some people have been reporting. There are times during early cut scenes when the framerate is awful, and the game stutters occasionally -- enough to be noticeable, but not enough to impact gameplay -- but I'm positive it hasn't dropped to below 20fps for any significant amount of time.

I'd like for them to fix that, of course, but it's not going to happen, so at the very least I'd like for them to fix any of the hard freezing issues.

Fixed an issue when potentially the game could enter unresponsive
state when transitioning from the Holding Docks area to the Normandy
Docks area of the Citadel. (PS3 Only)

I beleve this happend while trying to get to the holding docks from all areas.

Exactly it just froze using the elevator in general. So were gonna have to wait and hold off judgement to see if it has been fixed in general. Still i cant understand how the fps issue want a top priority for them. That issue was known of since the demo.

It's an engine-level issue. Do you really expec them to completely re-write the game's code to better utilize the PS3's strengths? It's the same reason Skyrim will never play particular well on the PS3.

That's a good start, but in the last 15 minutes I bought a pack that wouldn't register (again), so I restarted to get the stuff I bought and the first game I got into I was stuck in the sky after the second round (but not as a Vanguard this time, oddly enough), then the game froze while in a loading screen when I tried to join a different match. Multiplayer needs some love.

It isn't an engine issue. It's an optimisation issue. They chose to give it the fps issue as a tradeoff to avoid another issue they considered worse. EA forced the release schedule and guess which platform they devoted most time to get it to run smoothly - that's right - the platform with the most sales. Will the fps issue be fixed? EA will do a cost/benefit analysis: all signs point to 'don't hold your breath'.

That being said, I have faith that people at Bioware WANT to fix it. Whether they are able to fit it into EA's plans is another question...

How about some support for private games not working and invites hanging? Nothing overall for any multiplayer connectivitiy. What the hell are they doing?

I would really like the glitch where you lose points or money trying to buy packs in the store a.d. it not only takes your credits/money it kicks you from the game and you have to leave and come back in. I've lost about 20 packs so far and a few have been with actual money. I've also called EA and they tell me a fix will give me back all the packs I'm owed. It's been a month and no word on getting them back. I would also like the PS3 users to be able to access the N7 weapons on the weekend events. It sucks that we get shafted on a full ME3 MP experience.

A start...but a start nonetheless. I hope thede rest can be fixed as well

- framerate
- freezes (mostly in my case, the gunning down of Dr. Eva at the start)
- missing characters (Tali saying 'I love you' at Rannoch and other scenes)
- hard drive install or whatever needed

Hopefully can join all events as well. We PS3 gamers don't wanna be left out of another OP: Raptor again...ever!
