So does anyone else feel sorry for the Indoctrination Theorists?

After the game came out, they were like:

Bioware couldn't have written something this bad and meant it to be taken seriously, just wait a few weeks and the "real" ending will arrive. There is a whole extra ending sequence that Bioware prepared, and soon they'll release it

Then "Final Hours" came out, describing how the ending was put together, apparently completely seriously, and they were like:

Keighley is just playing along with Bioware's plan, just wait, they'll make an announcement soon.

Then Bioware talked about being upset with the criticism of their work, which they though was good, and the ITs were like:

It's all part of the leadup to the big reveal, news is coming soon, you'll see

Then Bioware said they would address fans' ending concerns with "new content initiatives", details coming in April, and ITs were like:

See? They basically confirmed that the "real" ending DLC is coming. Just wait till PAX where they'll make their triumphant announcement

Then the day before PAX Bioware announced they had reorganized their DLC schedule so they could start working on new "extended cut" ending DLC, which would be the only ending DLC, which wouldn't change the endings, but would just add some epilogues and clarification cinematics, due this Summer, and the IT's were like:

They're just talking about the "real" ending DLC, which will "clarify" by explaining that the other endings were hallucinations. They musn't have planned to originally release it until later, but they moved it forward. Just wait till PAX and you'll see

Then at PAX Bioware said Indoctrination Theorists were "um, committed", and that the ending DLC currently had no plans to include gameplay ("but keep giving feedback!"). They also said they wouldn't confirm or deny the Indoctrination Theory outright, and the ITs were like:

See? They basically just confirmed Indoctrination Theory. What else does "not confirm or deny" mean? Just wait until the DLC comes, you'll see.

Indoc Theorists are people willing to give BioWare the benefit of doubt until they themselves make a confirming statement.

IT theorists are bigger fans of the game than you will ever be.

my hopes for it ended bewtween today and yesterday. They shot it down. It must be seen.
I was 99 percent, full steam ahead. but they did not give it to us. Im trying to bury it and let it go with dignity, dont want it dragged out anymore like uncle Bernie. bury, mourn, move on.

Well, I know that I'm gonna rip that stuff off if I ever make a game series. If done right this whole thing could have been GOLD!!

Oh my god, I always have. From day one.

It's like down syndrome. You want to believe that they are capable of leading fulfilling lives, but it's hard to ignore the cruelty nature has inflicted on them.

If they wanted to follow through with it, they would have done so today. Would have quelled all the rage going on in the forums, and might have supported upcoming DLC sales. To avoid confirmation for so long can only mean they will not actively pursue that path.

If they haven't denied it then it could still be true.

I desperately wish they were right. I've just always known Bioware wasn't that clever

The indoctrination theory illustrates again how, um, committed the fanbase is to making sense out of an awkward ending.

Amazingly well put, I completely agree with this statement.

Well, that BioWare disproves Indoctrination (what they haven't done exactly, yet) only shows that the theorists are bigger fans to the franchise than the actual writers.
I don't see a reason to feel sorry for them.

I really would have loved for the IT to be true. Now I just think it's funny that the ending was so awful that so many people (including me) were convinced it was a dream sequence.

I don't think either of those statements are in doubt.  In fact, that's kind of the whole point.

Of course there's going to be no gameplay, that would mean having to bring back the voice actors. They'd rather take the lazy route. Just like they already did with the current ending.

Sigh.

Bioware had artistic integrity once.

I have to agree, even though I didn't subscribe to it, it was interesting.

They held onto the hope that Bioware had a grand plan...obviously that was incorrect.  I can sympathize.  It was hard to just write off ME 3.

There was the magical "if" in that statement.

At least the IT theorists have taken their passion and put it into coming up with a creative solution to their problems.

You know, instead of devoting their time to trying to make other people on the internet feel inferior than themselves.

Seriously, let the rage go.
