If the Indoctrination Theorists are truly the "great" fans, I'm fine being lumped into a "lesser" fan category than being associated with them. I won't lose any sleep over it.

Better to be viewed as a lesser fan in the eyes of....someone, I guess, than a full-blown conspiracy nut.

Not being an Indoctrination Theorist doesn't make you a "lesser" fan. I didn't intend to imply that.

Because it's fun!

Well, if they are "bigger" fans than me, what does that make me? Presumably, it would make me a lesser one.

Reagrdless, I'm fine not being associated with them.

Sorry but IT theorists are not bigger fans then me.

They're simply less realistic people then me.

You do know that it's a satirical theory to make fun of the Indoctrination Theory, right? I don't actually believe in it, and no one does because it's so clearly nonsensical, yet it can be supported by in-game "evidence"...just like the Indoctrination Theory.

I fuel it, and link to it, because it's hilarious to see the parallels between that thread and the actual IT one.

Sorry, but I didn't see anywhere in my initial comment that said IT's were "bigger" fans than anyone, especially not you. Only in that they are/were "great", and being great is not a 1-Team-Only shelf.

This.

So, Indoc Theorists who are in denial about what Bioware created are bigger fans than people who have accepted what Bioware created?

ok.......

(sorry couldn't resist)

Thi..Uh?!

Couldn't resist either XD

Well more seriously, i don't think they are great or lesser fans, but i do think IT theorist deserve to be called the biggest fan of ME ( big and great are not the same thing ). Why? For a simple reason: even faced with the downright awfull ending of ME3 they refused to believe that BW could be that bad, and wrote (invented?) a theory which tried to explain all the plot-holes of the ending.

I always thought the IT was silly and even if it was confirmed to be true it wouldn't make me any happier because it's still a stupid way to end Mass Effect 3.

I personally liked the theory, even had my own ideas around it, but all and all, as the evidence piled up, it became more and more evident the Bioware f***ed up. I do feel sorry for them because they actually put in the "constructive" criticism and discussion that these threads and boards are actually made for, unlike some who pissed and moaned for weeks on end, and the trolls, and the hate mongers, etc. Just saying, they actually tried to help out Bioware and just got a bigger middle finger then others.

Holy crap you are a bastard.  No you are worse than that.  You are the scum that a bastard wipes off their shoes.

DO NOT INSULT PEOPLE WITH DOWN'S SYNDROME.

…by comparing them to people who believe in indoc? That was not my intention. You're right. I apologize.

Fair enough, I made the assumption then. I thought you were responding to my less quotey post:

Armdin wrote...

To be fair, I've been a "wait and see" person since I finished the game. I still am. The way I see it is BioWare have made so many amazing games that to abandon the whole company based on one game (I won't say series, as the rest of it except for the last 10 minutes of the latest has been damn fecking amazing), I feel, is a shame.

But looking at the Indoctrination Theorists makes me feel genuinely sad, as they held (and in a lot of cases still hold) such an adamant and admirable stance on BioWare's writing. BioWare should be proud to have fans like them.

I don't much like the whole "what makes a fan" business myself, but if there's ever an indicator of what makes a "great" fan its the Indoctrination Theorists. I hope that they at least pay homage to these people, in that they at least leave it wide open for IT to remain viable. If not, actually go all out and make it one of the epilogues.

I remember seeing somewhere that BioWare is *still* taking feedback, there's something to remain hopeful for at least.

My apologize. C:

They were biggger fans of Bioware not of ME. They were a gaggle of butthurt fanboys who couldn't come to terms with the fact that the horrible from the get-go crucible plot came to it's "logical" conclusion at the end or that their beloved developer are incapable of planning a more cohesive series than a fighting game developer like Arc System Works has done with Blazblue.

Five bucks also says they have no problems with the retconned Cerberus superpower upstaging the reapers or the sht!tty contrivences like the Rachni and Geth plots.

yeah i feel bad for them, they had a half way decent idea to make up for the bad ending of ME3, as at least they tried something. It may have not worked out anyway, but at least they tried something instead of sitting around and just throwing insults at bioware and EA, not that they didn't totally deserve it. But with the IT thoerists we can at least say the community tried to be productive and figure out a way for Bioware to dig themselves out. Which if they did I'm sure they wouldn't of even said thank you.

oh well.

Final Hours was a load of hogwash in an attempt to add more speculation. It didn't confirm nor deny anything. What he said could even be taken out of context to argue the point that the ending is still up in their air but at the same time we're not hearing or seeing anything right now that confirms the theory either.

I also don't feel sorry for them since they made up the theory and choose to believe in it until said otherwise.

I just feel more sorry for the IT folks as they seem determined to hold onto faith in Bioware's writing until it is absolutely not viable under even the most generous interpretation of the facts.

Which means the crash, when it comes, will be even harder.

I would not call it faith. I just believe the odds of them writing it perfectly for 99% of the game only to get this bad at 1% is unlikely. Also dont see them trying to kill off a franchise in which they have 1 animated film, 1 live action film, and more comics and books on the way. Thats ALOT to lose just on 1% of the writing for them not to give a crap about it.

erm, Dragon Age.

Dragon Age : Origins was for a while Bioware's best selling game ever. While they were making DA2, they had an animated film planned (it was still made IIRC). Yet DA2 was a franchise-killing level of bad.

If there was a competition for biggest Bioware fan, I wasn't going to be winning any prizes, even before the ending was inflicted upon us. Man, I used to feel happy knowing that the pillars of Bioware, Blizzard, and Valve were holding up PC gaming. Rumors of Titan are making it look like Blizzard's looking like it's heading toward making products that wouldn't be out of place in Idiocracy, Bioware is... Bioware, and I'm still waiting for HL3.

Makes you wonder what the underlining theme is that effectively killed two amazing serieses for a lot of peopl, if what you say is true.

The arrogance level in this thread.

It's astonishing.
