So does anyone else feel sorry for the Indoctrination Theorists?

I'm sorry, but when and where is that a euthanism for insane?
It's a term often used when placing someone in a mental institution. Fortunately, this definition popped up within the first few Google results.
Funnily enough, http://www.thefreedi...y.com/committed came up for me in the first results of searching "Commited definition":
com·mit (k
-m
t
)v. com·mit·ted, com·mit·ting, com·mits v.tr.
1. To do, perform, or perpetrate: commit a murder
2. To put in trust or charge; entrust: commit oneself to the care of a doctor; commit responsibilities to an assistant.
3. To place officially in confinement or custody, as in a mental health facility.
4. To consign for future use or reference or for preservation: commit the secret code to memory.
5. To put into a place to be kept safe or to be disposed of.
I like 1. and 4.
But oh dear, what an unfortunate example for 1.

They've turned brother against brother, friend against friend, fan against fan
This is truly a dark time for videogaming * says a prayer for all my Brothers and sisters in the struggle*
But seriously I believe in IT and I haven't had all of the whole of the theory pointed out (As you can tell I haven't been posting here long) but I'll peruse these boards to check them out.
Regardless I guess it's easier for me to believe that BioWare wrote a great story than that it all suddenly fell apart at the end.

But I never was a IT theory follower. I knew that the IT theory gave BioWare far to much credit.
And the fact that the IT theory could get a grip to start with is just further proof how utterly craptastic the eding is.

For me, I'm completely prepared to accept they botched the ending. When my other "series favourites" consist of Silent Hill (botched by foreigners), Resident Evil (botched by it's own team), Sonic (see ResEvil), and World of Warcraft (botched by fans), it makes it almost painless to accept the ending as terrible. However, as with Silent Hill and Resident Evil, headcanon and relentless belief that the next one can be better see's me through the crap. I'm determind to do the same with Mass Effect. IT helps with that process

The beauty of indoctrination theory is they'll just claim it's all due to indoctrination and therefore not real. I'll give the IT crowd this, they've build a unfalsifiable theory... of course, that means it's a crappy theory by definition.

Right. Because that's totally a sane, logical, and polite thing to do.
Keep at it. When someone claims that the Indoctrination Theorists have been nothing but polite, I can point to your posts and have evidence to the contrary.

Resident Evil has pretty much become total crap anymore (both the movies and the games). In defense of the movies though at least they still have zombies.

^This.
The fact that fans of the game could come up with a better ending shortly after playing the game, than the actual writers could create on their very best day after 2 years of development is one of the most epically sad things I've seen lately. Gotta feel sad for Bioware.

I feel more sorry for BioWare tbh. If the IT theory had been true then they could at least go down in history as the creators of the most clever ending ever. Now they will just go down in history as the creators of the ****tiest ending ever.

No they wouldn't, and clearly you've not played ET.

For me, Milla Jovavich(spelling?) is the only thing that saves the films. I say that, yet I haven't seen any past Apocalypse. All I know is she looks awesome in the trailers ;D

I agree with you on that also did you think that Jill in Apocalypse was annoying? Didn't seem at all like the character from the games to me.

Indoc Theorists are people willing to give BioWare the benefit of doubt until they themselves make a confirming statement.
IT theorists are bigger fans of the game than you will ever be.
And that is why. Although a good number of theorists don't act this way, there have been many of them who have tried acting superior to people because they think other people "aren't smart enough to get it" because "bioware are geniuses". These are the same people who would preach a theory like it's gospel, then go into every topic they could so they could spread their propaganda, without actually doing full research to see if there were any holes in their own theories. The ironic thing about this whole thing, is that many of these people actually indoctrinated themselves into thinking this theory was true, and that anyone who did not agree with them were indoctrinated, and were not good enough fans.
To those people, I hope some humility was learned from all this. As for the rest of them, yes, I do feel sorry for them, as I have said at the top.
Sadly, it doesn't look that way.

I think GBGriffin likes the endings but I am basing that on the fact that he has the intelligence of a house fly. Actually that is insulting house flies so sorry house flies you will be remembered in a better way one day.

The guy who started the IT thread would disagree.
Then they are idiots for trying to tell me I have to have faith in an IDEA. Which it sill is to me, just an idea.
From Dogma:
Rufus: He still digs humanity, but it bothers Him to see the **** that gets carried out in His name - wars, bigotry, televangelism. But especially the factioning of all the religions. He said humanity took a good idea and, like always, built a belief structure on it.
Bethany: Having beliefs isn't good?
Rufus: I think it's better to have ideas. You can change an idea. Changing a belief is trickier...

I don't like the ending, and I don't like the IT.
As for correction, they've given us all we're going to get at the moment, so why wouldn't I accept it over buying into a fantasy?
