Seen so many posts saying that if the ending is not IT then they've given up.
Instead of railroading, let the writers do their thing with the Expanded Cut.
Is IT one way they could do it? Yes. Is it the only way? Hell no.

Without removing starchild, it is. Indoc theory is the only way they can turn the current ending into something that makes sense without removing that scene, which they have said they aren't going to do.

I don't know about that. They may have ideas that no one on the forums has thought of yet.
