They said they are open to feedback on this. So tell them what you want to see.

I'll start with one thing missing from the announcement:

(1) Additional dialogue options with the Catalyst. There needs to be more exposition on the rationale for the cycle and Shepard needs an opportunity to ask questions, because as it stands Shepard's acceptance of an assertion against evidence to the contrary makes him look like an idiot and makes the final choice appear arbitrary.

I think with this *and* added epilogue and cinematics, the ending could be satisfying. Without added dialogue with the starchild, the main problem with the final choice will remain.

(2) Apart from that, the explanation for the Synthesis needs to change because the current one is compeltely nonsensical. Without giving anything away, the phrasing from the leaked script is an acceptable alternative.

(Note: I heard a rumor they're calling back Shepard's VAs for the Extended Cut. So I think added dialogue options is a possibility)

If Shepard survives, I want him/her reunited with the LI. Including Miranda and Jack, if applicable.

Epilogue slides showing the impact of our choices.

I like the idea of extended dialogue with the Catalyst. At the very least, more opportunities for Shepard to call the godchild on his crap instead of just standing there listening to him, as though everything coming out of his mouth makes perfect sense to Shepard.

I'd also like to see DIFFERENT cinematics/ending slides depending on your choices and decisions through the game. If I decided to make peace between the Geth/Quarians, or if I cured the Genophage, I better not get the exact same slides/cinematic as if I did the opposite of that. If I amassed a huge amount of war assets, including getting the Rachni to join me, I better have a different ending slide/cinematic than if I barely amassed any war assets and killed the Rachni queen. That kind of thing.

There should also be ending cinematics/slides showing Shepard and his crew/LI if certain conditions are met. Go ahead and decide what those conditions are, but at least ONE of the ending cinematics should see that happen.

There's a bunch more, but those would be at the top of my list.

If they're intent on keeping the ending, they absolutely need to expand the dialogue with the Star Child. There must be an ability to question his methods, cry foul, and investigate. There is no excuse for not having a dialogue wheel in that scene. It is one of the pivotal scenes in the game, and the player has absolutely no control over how Shepard reacts. The absence of a dialogue wheel is absurd for a role-playing game touted for reactive decision making, and it makes the scene come across as increadibly ham fisted.

There has to be a difference in the cinematics and epilogues dependent on previous choices. As it stands, it doesn't seem to matter what you did to get to the catalyst - all results are the same regardless of whther the geth/quarian conflict was resolved or the krogan were cured. This makes the choices seem irrelevant.

A fourth ending where you activate the catalyst as intended and all the reapers die without sacrificing the geth.

I don't care if the consequence is 'everybody on the Normandy dies BOO HOO' because I understand some people need their endings to be partially grimdark. But a whole segment that avoids the Starkid and the retarded dialogue therein ultimately leading to the mcguffin working as intended would be fantastic.

I'd like to see Indoctrination. It was a great initial idea, and the groundwork is very much there (otherwise there'd be no Indoc Theory camp). Why not run with it?

It'd actually close alot of the holes (pretty much all of them) and give you a "clean slate" to place whatever final moments you want in there... heroic sacrifice, pro-human renegadey choice (I dunno), or even some miraculous "Shepard lives" moment... then cut to epilogue scenes showing the outcome for surviving squadmates/important characters, how the genophage decision impacted the galaxy, how the geth/quarian outcome impacted the galaxy, and (if alive) Shep+LI living out their days.

For bonus points: Renegade interrupt headbutt on Starchild.

not trying to hate on the endings but I wouldn't mind seeing another dlc with as much content equivalent to another disk....... let's take back earth not just London

P.s. some buddies and I were playing some multi player last night ; we thought it would have been cool if the dlc were to involve taking back each system 1 system at a time.... example " battle for palavin" next dlc would be "For Thessia" followed by"The Hades Gamma conflict" dlc....etc. anyway I could wish

If it canno't be change at the very least I'd like the ending to be more connected with the rest of the game and background.

For exemple the Catalyst could say that the "red solution" is the result of the Prothean's work on the crucible (it does mirror Javik's opinion on the synthetics), that the "blue solution" as been implemented by Cerberus infiltrated agents (it's the illusive man plan after all) and that the "green solution" is the new stuff, the results of the combined research effort of the humans, asari, turians, quarians and geth (it's very hard to have it without very varied war assets), that would make that choice a little more palatable if we're told it is the choice of our scientist team.

yes bioware, you can satisfy almost everyone, just add an alternative ending to the one we have currently... a lot of fans are willing to pay for a new ending, you get the cash, and people get what they want,win-win!

even better, adding a super-mega happy ending that filled with fanservise will make a lot of fans very very happy. want to stop people from bi-tching about the game? make them happy, give them what they want.

As a member of hold the wallet, I'd say all we really want is for bioware to do a good job and to make sure they don't drop the ball on this one. So far, in my personal opinion, bioware is doing a good job, especially in understanding that it needs to make it's dlc free in order to build up some good faith with the community.

However, while I respect biowares artistic vision, we currently don't know enough to about what their actually doing to criticize them for doing good or bad, we simply don't know. What I'd like to see is an explanation about the reapers that is much more fleshed out, more allies fighting on the ground and in space, and for them to actually explain the entire Normandy crash scene, that didn't make sense without the context they are supposedly adding.

Tell us what happened to the Universe, to Shepard, to the companions and his/her LI. Explain how the fleets wont starve (apparently the current ending "implies" that everybody has food, according to Jessica Merizan via twitter ). It would be interesting to know why Joker and the crew magically appear in the middle of nowhere, and why they are soo happy while his Commander is like...dying. Also, it would be nice to have gameplay and the posibility to a full dialogue (with "investigation" and paragon/renegade options) and not only a few cinematics with autodialogue. I dont want to end up with an scene where the boy says to the stargazer "Cool story dude, tell me one about that expansion that will not happen because the developer moved to the Next Thing ™"...ups! wrong game. Nevertheless, ive got some faith in Bioware...wait and see I guess

Defy Godchild. Make IT true. Whatever, but the Godchild as the Catalys with his/her/it/they logic about Synthetics vs. Organics is the real problem. The Reapers worked as a main villain because their motives were unknown and sinister, don't make them into a bad joke.

i want to see salarians forces holding the line, i was promised STG and didnt saw a single salarian frog on london, would had been REALLY nice,if during that missile launch sequence where you have to hold on enemy forces if you had the stg suport, you only had enemy coming from one flank while they helped (off screen) the other.
regarding post decision, i want to know why joker fled, and how is my final squad alive as everyone else around me was beamed to death. I also want to know what happened to javik, and the citadel, if people died or not. And i hope they add dinossaurs eating joker if i choose destroy becouse there is no way i can accept my LI being strandled in a planet with the only guy who can pilot a ship, jacob's dad anyone ?

Copied from my response in the ending thread.

Personal things that I would love in the ending:

*More personalization (which the team said today at the panel, which is great!)
*More context (again, confirmed in FAQ)
*Epilogues (Confirmed)
*Maybe happier, if done right
*HARBINGER HARBINGER HARBINGERRRRR

Speaking of HARBINGER, now for the real purpose of this post. No more nice talk. Harbinger needs to be in this new ending. The fact that he flies away after two games is very frustrating, enough that I threw my shoe at the screen. I will live, BioWare, if he is not in the new ending... but know that I am watching you.

What's the point? They're not listening. Between this youtube vid:

this article: http://www.gamefront...fans-are-right/

Bioware should know EXACTLY what's wrong with the ending. It's broken no matter how you slice it. It betrays A LOT of established lore and themes. You cannot add onto it and expect all to be well. Oy. Why do I bother? Because I and many others care about this franchise. We'll see what happens but I have a bad feeling that it'll only get worse.

A couple of things...

1) I would like to see a Javik style flashback to the point in time when the Catalyst created the Reapers explaining in much more detail to Shepard the reason why it needed to happen or at least the final days of Harbingers race before they decided to Reaperfiy themselves. Harbinger should be shown as the Shepard of his time in the fight against what ever AI/Synthetics that drove the Catalyst to his "Solution".

2) Possibly change the child to the original organic form of Harbinger.

3) Explain the Normandy section.

4) A glimpse into the future of the galaxy... showing how they rebuild etc...

5) Show a few cinematics of my War Assets during the London section... such as the Rachni etc...

What's the point? The whole ending is terrible whether they "clarify" (those are air quotes, btw) and extend it. It''s illogical and something Mac Walters pulled out of his ass since he couldn't come up with a better idea.

They're better to read that link carl posted then these forums, since most just reiterate what it says.

The best idea was to scratch the ending totally, and write something coherent and intelligent.

go for Indoc, you can keep your artistic ending and just pick things up after shep wakes up from it.

This has been said before but they still decided that clarification would be sufficient.

It's not.

So let me restate what I think they should do to really fix the ending.

Ideally I would love to see them scrap the whole thing and come up with something new. Redo the whole Earth mission to make it something worthy of the rest of the game.

But if that's not possible then at the very least they need to add dialog options when talking to the star child to basically tell him he's full of it. We need a way of actively denouncing the entire premise of his argument. Make this through Paragon and Renegade dialog options, hell add in renegade and paragon interupts to make it better.

If they're not going to add some final confrontation then have the fourth option be a bunch of cinematics showing the effects of all of the war assets you've collected, so it's possible to beat back and destroy the reapers through shear numbers and determination, and ignore the space magic altogether.

I want to see absolutely unique endings, and I don't want to be able to choose those endings out of three. I want it to be because that's what I earned through the decisions I made throughout the series.

When the Star-Child gives us the 3 options and tell us to choose, let us be able to turn around and just say, "No."
