I don't like the direction of the current ending, especially the destruction of the relays. I'd much prefer the dark energy ending that allows the Mass Effect galaxy that I love to continue on (albeit, without Shepard). I have no qualm about Shepard dying...hell I sacrificed my hero in DA:O because that was the ending I wanted. But if this is the direction we're stuck with, the following would lessen my disappointment:

1) Much more cinematics based on and showing my war assets coming into play. I'd also like more cinematics of my squadmates during my final foray into the citadel.

2) The survival of my squadmates and allied races dependent on my EMS.

3) A significant follow-up on my squadmates, allies and the state of the galaxy after Reaper annihilation, so that all my choices and the gathering of war assets has significant meaning to me, the player.

Those three would make the ending bearable. However, it would still change the face of Mass Effect for future games, so much so that I'm highly doubtful there will ever be another Mass Effect game dated after the events of ME3. I just don't see how it's possible with the relays destroyed...it'd be a completely different experience.

A purple ending would be pretty rad.

A fourth ending where you activate the catalyst as intended and all the reapers die without sacrificing the geth.

Where's "as intended" coming from there? I don't recall Shepard ever really finding out exactly what the Catalyst was supposed to do -- just that the folks from the earlier cycles thought it would stop the cycles.

(1) Additional dialogue options with the Catalyst. There needs to be more exposition on the rationale for the cycle and Shepard needs an opportunity to ask questions, because as it stands Shepard's acceptance of an assertion against evidence to the contrary makes him look like an idiot and makes the final choice appear arbitrary.

I think with this *and* added epilogue and cinematics, the ending could be satisfying. Without added dialogue with the starchild, the main problem with the final choice will remain.

These seem good to me. Note that disagreeing with available options doesn't necessarily mean that there are any other options. Having the argument would be fine.

I like the scenarios postulated here. It maintains a balance of sorts, and picks up with the existing endings without demanding a retcon. Yes, you can get endings where Shepard reunites with his/her love interest and crew... but you have to exterminate the Geth to do so, and Joker doesn't make it past the first year without EDI.

Balance.

Works for me -- my only problem with most of the happier ending proposals is that they came free.

So the Renegades finally catch a break, huh? (assuming you call that a Renegade choice)

For a thread soliciting Extended Cut suggestions, it would seem like "don't do it, do something else" comments are actually off-topic at best, threadjacking at worst. They would fit better in a thread titled, "Things BioWare should do instead of Extended Cut."

Don't mind me, I'm just being pedantic.

uhm i think the real problem it's not a matter of how you deliver this ending...the issue is that this is a game, and if at the end you can't "win" no matter what, then you can't expect people to enjoy it. I'm sorry to say this cuz the game was really amazing, but the ending was really bad. Let us win the war in a good way or there's no way the game will be enjoyable at all. Now tell me what you want, but a player that likes a game that, no matter what you do, won't let you "win" is just a masochist.

House on Rannoch. All of these things ought to be possible. Question is, what would you be willing to pay for it? What trade-offs would you be willing to make?

I want my hug from Garrus (maybe shirtless? ok, let me dream..) Maybe some interaction with Solana (lol, we'll never see FemTurians *sigh*) and Papa Vakarian? Doesn't Garrus deserve to hear praise from his father by now?

Maybe some images of baby krogan to reflect our choice regarding the genophage?

Short summary of how each surviving squad-mate and each surviving galactic civilisation is handling life post-relays?

I know, small requests compared to most but I'm easily pleased.

I want to see just how crazy life would be like in the Synthesis ending. All they did in the current ending was a trippy blue overlay.

I want my war assets to be something material, something physical, something that I can see battling, helping. Where the fluck are the Thanix cannons, where are the rachni warriors, where is the volus cruiser...

Well, if I am working within the confines of the ending not being changed, then I guess this is what I'd like to see;

Some way to make Starchild make more sense. Most of what he says is contradictory to major themes in the game. One of the more important issues to address in my opinion is, well, his assertion that synthetics will always fight organics. I just created an alliance with a synthetic race and it's helping me destroy my enemies who are also synthetic. I feel as though this nullifies his whole argument. There is a gigantic list of problems that need to be addressed, but it's late and I'm about to pass out. Will probably update tomorrow morning (if I remember to that is haha.)

Oh, and let me build Tali a house. Please. I'd love to see an in game face on her too during said house building cut scene, but I understand if that is out of the question. Sad about, but I understand. It'd be greatly appreciated!

1. Get rid of the Star Child or allow Shepard to question it perhaps even convince it to give up.

2. A massive fight scene including all of the war assets we've gained.

3. If IT is true, a fight between Shepard and the ground team against reaper creature, eventually taking out Harbinger; or Shepard and reaper creatures against Shepard's crew, eventually taking out the Destiny Ascension.

4. If IT is false, show exactly WTF just happened. Honestly, I hated the Star Child.

5. Show and tell what happened to all the races and major characters.  This one must reflect the choices we made across all three games.

I've had a vision of how it should be... and it's at the 9-minute mark of this video.

My guess is they've already laid out scenes of how they want to fill in the 'gaps'.

I think everything from the elevator ride up to the deciding on the choice to make is complete bull shizzle. It should be completely scrapped. What I want to see is the writers who wrote that in fired. I think some of the fan fiction endings were done much better than the actual ending in the game. More creativity.

Problem is EA won't give them that freedom. I almost wish every BioWare and EA fan would abandon them and EA period no questions asked. I would rather see the gaming industry or rather Electronic arts file bankruptcy. lol. I dunno. some part of me wants to see this whole thing crumble.

Or better yet, Gates of hell pour out the battle for armageddon commences and the rapture takes place. The end of the world so we don't have to put up with this controversy anymore. It's starting to get too painful.
