interesting observation though quite flawed. Every game you mentioned has won awards for its excellence. Perhaps you just don't have an eye for quality

So whos done with BW and EA now? You know sell all your BW games never touch another one. Because right now it sure as hell looks like a good idea.

Naw. I'll prolly still play the occassional EA or Bioware game. But they will be rented or purchased used. I see no reason to support them financially.

Ill play a ea or bioware game as long as its not my money thats being used towards it.

I am done. I accept that the endings aren't going to change, even though I do not like them. I still love Mass Effect and I shall keep playing it.

People like Zolt51; please stop speaking as if you are some sort of authority.  Count the number of individual posters upset, confused, or even angry about the ending, and then count its supporters.  While this doesn't make your opinion matter less, it certainly takes away your right to be flippant or arrogant about a company you have no more stake in than us.  The general concensus is obvious; bioware failed.  They made a faulty product, and their core fanbase is turned away because of it.  So please leave your "Good bye's" and whatever else out.  You can be damn sure our posts aren't meant for you.

Wow... angst. That's new.

You missed my point by the way. I was expressing surprise that the previous poster was disappointed with ME2. ME3 I can understand but ME2? If you don't like *any* bioware games what are you even doing here?

agree

I would say that ending aside mass effect 3 is probably top 3 all time of what ive seen from bioware.
Compared to the other two in the trilogy, mass effect 3 has better combat and much better done face animations. its actually a bit awkward looking at me2 dialogue and seeing things they fixed in me3.

The only animation problems i had was the near 360 degree head turns...creepy! Ashely williams and Specialis traynor are frequent offenders!

Hrm. Let's see what this DLC has to offer.

In any case, I had this daydream of Bioware releasing DA3 but no one buys it due to ME3. This causes EA to shoot BW in the head. Then we have people like Casey Hudson creating an independent developer from the remains.

I really which they would have made KotOR3 instead. I would have bought it in a heart beat but if it was release after ME3....... Id probably would have waited until it was cheaper.

I have hope, its faint and like a flickering light but its still there, and while the final moments of ME3 was inexcusable, the rest of it (ME and ME2 and the majority of ME3) WAS and STILL IS freakin AMAZING, so yeah, I will wait and see if the DLC will fix things (I have my doubts - see their official release page on "what" the DLC will be, cut scenes and epilogue aka no user interaction/intervention :crying: could be just more pretty lights with subtext for people like me who "just dont get it" guess my fancy undgrad and post grad degrees make me stupid  I knew I shouldnt have gone to university to learn :o ....guess we'll all see what's what when it does come out) .

there is one thing I will take away from this,  I will now be more cautious of Bioware made games, its not the end really. We as consumers can all support other developers who treat their customers properly, there's the people who make the Witcher, who upto now continue to give me more value for my support of their games... the free updates alone are amazing, then there's KICKSTARTER games (Wasteland 2 and Double Fine games)... so Bioware isnt the only developer out there who is deserving of our support and in the end like the bean counters say...it really does come to that, MAKE YOUR MONEY speak for you and what you want in the games you get to play. :)

I will not sell my games, as that doesn't always work so well on PC, but I am not touching Bioware again. I am not being entitled or throwing a hissy fit. Bioware made a product that I don't like [One among a series of others recently] and that ruined previous products they released for me.
As such, I will not touch their products in future, as I know they'll do the same thing.

Not used to the forums rules, but John Elper locked my "topic" and said there were enough ending threads right now... I think he did not fully comprehend my post but I think this topic is the appropriate place... Just wanted to share my post...
--------

This is my second time on this board. I felt compelled to share something I've witnessed this thursday on how Bioware's handling of this situation has people talking on the street, not only on the internet.

I work in Ottawa, Canada, right in front of the parliament. We're mostly public servant at that location. I was at Tim Horton's for my afternoon coffee and there were three guys (mid 30's) in front of me talking about the announcement of the extended dlc for mass effect 3. Basically, they were saying how they were disappointed with the whole issue and how they had been screwed twice now in two years. (DA2 and ME3)

I started talking with them on the issue and they told me that a lot of people in their department shared their disappointment for ME3's ending; apparently public servants play games too. But more importantly, these three guys mentioned that at this point, their disappointment transformed into anger. Anger at how this whole issue was handled by Bioware. The anger was mostly directed at the condescending statement of "artistic integrity" and how illogical that is from a corporation that has a number one goal to make money.

I wasnt shocked by all of this, but it was the first time that I met people on the street that shared the emotions seen on these boards. It was also interesting to see us, 4 guys at the center of the capital, busy with politics and current cuts happening, talking about the effect of the ending of a game.

When "the internet" meets reality, you know, outside the virtual gamers world, I think it demonstratse a real problem.

We ended the discussion in agreement that we felt sad, as Canadians, of this turn of event for Bioware, which is a Canadian company. Montreal, and Edmonton to a certain degree, are powerhouses for videogames (Ubisoft, bioware , EA etc...). I think any citizen of any country feels a little proud when a company of his country gets high praises from around the globe for its product, like Bioware used to get.

Games from Bioware were the only one that I did not wait for massive users reviews before buying. This has now changed and their games will be treated on the same level as any other. That was my first Collector's Edition ever. I wanted to encourage Bioware and felt proud of supporting a Canadian company. I dont like getting stabbed in the back (ending/unfifilled promesses) and in the heart (condescending statements).

Sincerely,

A very disappointed fan.

Hey people i found an interesting video here , it shows that the true enemy is EA and not Bioware!

Artistic integrity is a lie cause EA doesn't make art anymore, they make money!

How can we blame ea and bioware at this point. Our own player representatives dropped the ball at pax. We have no voice. Perhaps the true majority out there really don't care about all of the inconsistancies and space magic. Maybe at the end of the day the retake mass effect movement was selfish and shortsighted after all.

The movement was a noble endeavor, largely sullied and misrepresented by an extremely vocal and entitled minority. (Hint: Check the "wallet" thread to see some of them.)

No more Bioware games for me.

I only actually enjoyed the Mass Effect series(to a great deal mind you, I rank ME1 as my favourite video game ever) and as it stands now, it's pretty well dead to me.

I'm done.

At this point, after the conference, I've realized I'm not going to get any satisfaction with the ending or the series. Not how BioWare plans on doing it. Until today, I had been going on a second play through, preparing for new ending DLC, but after hearing their arrogant, crass responses, I put the game in its box and back up on the shelf. Then, I dusted off my copy of Skyrim and enjoyed the new, free update patch that added a bunch of cool content and bug fixes. Sweet.

P.S. I should never have bought the Javik DLC. That was content that should have been available in the game. I'm ashamed for having bought it. I feel dirty. That was strike one, right off the bat.

I just bought another copy of every single Bioware game in existence. Bioware are fantastic developers, go mope somewhere else, thanks for stopping by. They give out free DLC after all that complaining and all you can do is still **** and moan.

We totally needed another thread about boycotting everything Bioware.

So a normal person would not base their buying decisions on previous products made by a company?

Wow, that makes a lot of sense.  :P

No, I wouldn't base my decision on the name on the label. You're talking about brand sensationalism. No different from buying brand name clothes when you say, "a game from BW or EA".

I'll take a look at the game, judge whether or not it's worth it and then buy it, just like I did with ME3. I won't dismiss it, or any game for any other company for that matter based on the developer or publisher, assuming it is within my realm of interest already.

Nice to know you think about stuff, though.

Whatever. It's cathartic to walk away, telling everyone on a forum that you plan to do so. BioWare has made it abundantly clear that they don't need me or any of the customers that feel like they got an inferior product. No problem. I don't need them either. Hence, the walking away. I'm saying I'm done with the ME series. But BioWare products are no longer a "slam dunk" in my book. I'll wait to hear about consumer and reviewer responses or reviews first.

Not done yet, they have until summer and the extended DLC, and that's only because it's free, if I'm not satisfied then me and my wallet take a walk, none of this emotional stuff, just plain old customer dissatisfaction.

I think you're all full of crap (in regards to the first page. I didn't read any others so idk if there's an argument going on or if someone said this)

You hate the game, sure. But that doesn't change the fact that bioware makes good games. So if a good one comes out; a mass effect 4, a dragon age 3, or a new series altogether, we all know you're sure as hell going to buy it.

Bioware made mistakes. They're doing a godawful job of admitting to them or even acknowledging them, but that's all they are. If another game comes out, you're probably going to buy it. You probably won't sell all your bioware games. Thing is, you're not being awesome or making a point to them. They have millions of customers who aren't as stupidly passionate as you, so don't count on your anti-contribution making any difference.

Sorry, but I see this stuff in literally every single thread nowadays. Hop off your pedestal and talk about something else for a damn change.
