I just hope they do the same thing as Mass Effect, and import your choices over. I refused Morrigan's offer because I dont want a stupid baby as the villain next time round.

I bet there will be a god baby with or without your help :),  thats why Morrigan went missing to secure a way of providing a vessel for the soul.

That wouldn't make sense because you then you/Alistair/Loghain wouldn't have died when killing the Archdemon.

I think the first decision Bioware will make for DA2 is that it will also involve "epic" level questing, same as BG2 compared to BG1. Fundamentally, this expands the toolset and game structure and lets them tell a very different type of story.

To do that, they'll either have to continue the "hero's" story or have an entirely new high level character generated. They'll do the former, whihc means they need to establish canon.

Here are my guesses:

1) Very little if anything in Ferelden. That potentially gives them the option to fashion a beginning story closer to the end point state of the last saved game without messing with the plot (e.g., it doesn't matter if Anora or Alister are queen/king if you're all the way up in Weiskaupt (sp?)). They will have the option to keep elements from each of the origin stories alive throughout modified to a very limited degree by player choice through DA1.

2) A few endings simply have to be eliminated as possibilities--hero dies, for example, or hero becomes king. Neither can work as a sequal.

3) Morrigan is going to have a baby that is the incarnation of an old God. Period. The game can adjust/give options based on whether it is yours or Alisters. My guess is that this means all the endings with ANY Grey Warden dying are not canon. Big question will be why no one died when archdemon died. Grey Warden leadership will be concerned/pissed off about this.

4) Plot will resolve to epic level confrontation between the Old Gods (via Morrigan's baby) and the Maker. This probably comes to a head in Tevinter.

Not necessarily. They could have Morrigan and her child in a sequel. If her child has magical powers, there is no way to determine whether they are an Old God soul or just gifted with magic. Even if they are very powerful, it could be explained through other means.

I would be very surprised if a sequel was just about Morrigan. I think the writers are clever enough to come up with a separate storyline.

Blights happen every few centuries. I didn't give Morrigan the grimoire, so I doubt she knows about Flemeth's method of immortality, so I doubt she'll be able to live to see the next blight.

Flemeth on the other hand...

Could be like ME 2. Where you upload your character from the 1st game and they go from there

Doesn't need to be about her, DA wasn't 'just' about her either, but she still played a major role. I think the writers are clever enough to come up with a story that is not about:

A) God Child PC (BG in the eclipse engine).
B) Another blight.
