I want them to explain how she took the picture. How she's out of her suit. Where she is. When she took it. etc etc, the thing is: this picture jumps the shark so high it ends up in outer space (literally). It is a poor attempt to reveal her face and it shows, and it brings up a dozen questions and answers none. After all, we still haven't really seen her face just that goofy goofy goofy picture.

LOTS OF SPECULATION FOR EVERYONE: The Slogan for Mass Effect 3.

I'd be more fine with it if they didn't tease her face reveal by turning the camera to her back every time her mask comes off. It's a step above an Austin Powers cover up

YAWN. no one cares. the photo was fine & suited her character.

so what if it was a "stock image" - they still have to find it.

now, if you don't like it, go do something else with your life.

At first my reaction to your post was the same as your avatar

This still baffles me. Their Tali's face was super lazy, pretty much the worst way they could've revealed it. But it would've been easier and better for them to just show nothing. So why do it?

Does not compute.

I just came to a realization today:

In Mass Effect 3, we get to see a Prothean rendered in-game, a race that's been extinct for 50,000 years that no one ever really expected to see. We don't, however, get to see Tali rendered in-game, even though she's been in every game since ME1, and there's been speculation about her face since the beginning.

A frustrating thought indeed.....<_<

The Tali's face explanation made me face-palm so hard. Almost as hard as, "The fans didn't tell us that they didn't want an ending that was three identical cutscenes overlaid with a different color. So how were we to know?" statement.

Seriously guys. If you didn't want to give us an answer that wasn't total bull ****, then why even bring these things up?

Yeah, everything at the panel was so obviously to be expected and disappointing. Just a waste of time really.

Did they really say that about the fans?  Because there's a lot of things I never said I didn't want that would have been infinitely better than the crap they shoveled out the door.

I love imagining this entire debacle is just to spite Talimancers.

Seriously i never did get why people liked her so much, there were more engaging characters in the game, i suppose people just like falling into their own traps.

Bioware. Can make brand new model for a random freeriding Chobot reporter. Can only photoshop a face for one of the series' most longstanding, loved characters.

Honestly, if Rockstar can get their hands on technology that can almost flawlessly imitate facial animation for LA Noire, I think it shouldn't be difficult for BioWare to at least take their poorly done photoshop and put it on a model that they already have 90% of.

Yeah,I felt the same way... Really dissapointed in Bioware. The fact that they didn't put anytime into making a face for a character who's been a squadmate in all 3 games and they just take a shortcut.
THANKS BIOWARE YOU'RE AWESOME /Sarcasm <_<

That's not photoshopped enough.  You'll never work for BioWare at this rate.  :P

Shepard needs more purple and lines and white eyes. And more stock photo image quality.

EA forced them to cut corners? Is that why EA allowed them to take an extra 4 months to polish up the game.

Remember the original launch date was Nov. Of 2011.

Yea? And they started to do game was it Dec 2010? Clearly not enough time! Game is very well done to Quarian/Geth missions, but after them game is rushed trash.

Good game with rushed end/content

Some people are fine with the picture they got.

And nowhere does it say that it's not artistic to use a stock photo of something in the game. What if they thought it was a really good photo that was better than what they came up with. Who cares how it was made as long as it gets the point across.

Tali's face and the fact that they completely balked the Indoc Theory question were some of the many highlights of the "discussion" which turned into statistic happy hour

Lets not forget that instead of discussing anything useful we find out that Tali is racist. How does that make me (the consumer) feel any different about the future of this sinking vessel?

I swear that discussion was a charade they answered almost nothing (the Citadel question was probably the only useful information from that whole deal) I cannot believe they would waste a perfectly good opportunity like that. *shakes head*

Go look at ME1 concept art. Tali was always intended to have an extremely human face. Every main character's face in Mass Effect is based off of a real-life model of some sort. Putting two and two together, what they did is the path that makes the most sense.

So when was Miranda's face a photoshop?

It bothers me that more effort was put into Chobot's derp-face than Tali's face reveal.

It really hits a nerve that all fans get is a framed picture, taken at an unknown location, at an unknown time, for no real reason.

I completely lose respect for the team when I find the actual picture used for Tali's face on Photobucket. It all just screams "LAZY LAZY LAZY."

I believe it is highly likely that a in-game engine Tali face was developed, but was so horribly bad that it did not make it to release. By the time they realized how horrendous the model looked in-game, it was too late to start over or salvage it and they scrapped it, opting for the stock photo retouch.

Notice that there is no concept art of Tali inside the suit anywhere to be found. I am sure sketches exist that have not been made available, since they were never actualized.

I don't think they were rushed, I just don't think the artists responsible produced a product fit for publish in the time alotted so they were forced to throw something together overnight to meet deadline.

The best solution: Actually show Tali's face in-game, make it look like the photo.

Done.
