YAWN. no one cares. the photo was fine & suited her character.

so what if it was a "stock image" - they still have to find it.

now, if you don't like it, go do something else with your life.

To paraphrase Gideon Graves, "it took, like, two hours!"

Seriously, how long did it take fans to Google and find the source image.  Nevermind the fact the image has cropped hands that don't match the Quarian species and the inclusion of trees/a shrubery in the background when all we've seen of the planet is some sort of desert, yeah, I'd say it was a masive let down at worse and a crap WindowsPaint alter at best.

No need to troll the OP on his opinion.

It bothers me that more effort was put into Chobot's derp-face than Tali's face reveal.

It really hits a nerve that all fans get is a framed picture, taken at an unknown location, at an unknown time, for no real reason.

I completely lose respect for the team when I find the actual picture used for Tali's face on Photobucket. It all just screams "LAZY LAZY LAZY."

Would not be a shock if IGN brokered a deal with Bioware in exchange for high praise and critical acclaim which would explain Ms. Allers (I for one think that looks nothing like Chobot at all)

But the fact they still stand by their artistic integrity nonsense after that point was brought up is more depressing then the lack of effort put into it.

The best solution: Actually show Tali's face in-game, make it look like the photo.

Done.

This. Show here rebuilding her home on Rannoch WITHOUT here bio suit in the closure DLC

I love imagining this entire debacle is just to spite Talimancers.

Seriously i never did get why people liked her so much, there were more engaging characters in the game, i suppose people just like falling into their own traps.

Some examples please, about engaging chracters with your opinion and positive points?
Garrus, Legion, Wrex, Mordin. No need to tell about them, they fall in to same gategory as Tali, best characters

I like Tali cause
- Mystery behind suit
- Great persona
- Voice
- She is just so cute and adorable
- "I have shotgun"

I want to say "mmehhh she looks too human". but maybe it's just a bad picture (ok no maybe it IS a bad picture. sry photoshop, whatever). You're right though, if we actually do see it in game, under the hood, mask off, talking to shepard, being Tali, then we'll know.

edit: Found this earlier, she can still look plenty alien while looking similar to what's in game. Just how it was presented that touches a nerve.
warning, cute alien in bikini alert

Just make her 3D model from that photoshop face and make her appear without suit and wear white summer dress in your cabin as 3D model! Would be win ;)

I, too, questioned the ridiculous logic they used to support choosing models for faces rendered in the game engine and applying same logic to using an image in photoshop and NOT putting it in the game engine.

True "WTF" moment.

Lol when they were going through that whole explanation, my first thought was, "If a picture is so much better than an in-game model, why the hell isn't the whole story just told in pictures? Because those are apparently so much more true and detailed than actual 3D rendered models of characters' faces."

Seriously, it just makes zero sense. BW have become the lords of circular logic lately.

Sadly i agree with the OP. The picture felt like an excuse to not give tali the same treatment every other character in this series got, theres a different between modeling something you make after a picture or person and just taking the picture/person and making a few minor changes. And messing up the fingers is just a terribly careless mistake for something they wanted to make sound important.

Sorry if im wrong and bioware actually believes it was for the best but its not the impression i got. It felt sloppy and a careless way to handle something that was suppose to be important to the fans. Id take a carefully modeled face over a Photoshopped picture in ME3 any day.

I think we all would. Especially people who were invested in the Tali relationship.

Given Bioware's response, I think we know where Bagdad Bob is now residing - truly, did they say all that with a straight face???

Exactly. Why couldnt they just create a face for one of the major characters? They painstakingly made diana allers look just like chobot (looks pretty wierd to me), but they didnt put forth any effort to a series favorite? something's wrong here.

I think the problem is most people saying oh it's no big deal and see people complaining about the face think they are complaining about the image being a stock image. I could care less that it was a stock image, I could care less that it was in the game, but for crying out loud how do you not model it in game on the character? Like you could have both I wouldn't care, I thought for sure on Rannoch after you brought peace to the geth and quarians and she pulled off the mask that we would finally see her face. But no you just get a picture. Like come on really just a picture? Again as others have said this wouldn't be as bad if she was a new character just introduced in this game, but bioware has had 5 years to figure out what they want her to look like. In all honesty if they wanted to keep the integrity or whatever bs excuse they used, then they just should have never revealed her face and left it to the imagination, I'd rather that then have to see Diana Allers misshapen face in game and just getting a photo of Tali. Again how do you take the time to render a new, very unimportant and only in the actually game for a total of about 10 minutes probably as opposed to one who has been in all 3 games for countless hours.

More fan art. I love how expressive this artist makes her.

Image IPB

If this had been the basis for her face, and it had been modeled and rendered in game, almost no one would be complaining. Fan art like this is awesome.

Yeah...  its called concept art, and is what game companies have been doing for decades...  draft it up, then slowly build on it and eventually render it into 3D.  jesus bioware what were you thinking

Don't we have other things to be pissed about?

BTW this is totally valid, but I'd take random stock photo and delivering on the promises they said they would over a better face any day.

I still don't understand why they admit fault, fix the image through either a patch or a fan contest.

Eh. . . they should have just shown her face when she takes her mask off on Rannoch.

Oh, and I presumed Quarian skin-colour was indicative of the colour of their masks---as in, the mask was clear/cloudy. Maybe it was a mistake on my part, but that was my impression all along.
