Go to the Dwarfs.

You can go wherever you want. Don't worry about what the guide says. I did the Warden's Keep, then Stone Prisoner after Lothering, then when to Orzammar. Other people do it differently (and I will on my current run).

If you want a good tank right off then go for Shale, otherwise don't worry too much about the order of things.

Shale has some of the best lines in the game when mixes with Morrigan or Leliana and is a great tank.

It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.

Plus Shale is nice to have in some parts of Orzammar. Have fun ditch the guide!

If you are not a healer you may want to go to the mages tower to get one first. It helps a lot.

I think doing the circle first gives you the most advantages (more details would be spoilers) but you don't HAVE to go anywhere 'first'. I would recommend doing Oz or Den later though, since the are tougher zones and this is your first playthrough.

It's much more fun to just go wherever you feel like instead of doing what a guide tells you to do.

But to each his own.

Like Sloth said, going to the Circle first gives you some advantages, but you should go in whatever order you feel like. There really isn't a wrong way, so to speak.
