Did they do anything in the game?

Whether I had 3k with 50% readiness or 9k (lots of mp promoting lol) with 100% readiness the ending battle looked the same.

Why did I bother investing so much time when the ending was all the same?

Why did I kill the rachni queen in me1? Either way she was still alive in me3 I thought she was a threat to the universe so I killed her, don't nullify my choice, just don't give me the choice if you're gunna bring back that character.

Why did I bother blowing up the collector base in me2? the illusive man still got his hands on reaper tech anyways, if he's going to get his hands on it anyways, don't bother asking me if I want to save the base or not. I would have rather watched more cut scenes then have to deal with being asking something that didn't actually matter.

Why did I choose anderson and let the council die only to find out that udina is councilor in the end and the council in me3 is not all human.

I don't like the fact that I had the option to choose when in reality, it was choosen for me.  I don't want an explanation  why they had to go back to udina and salarian/turian/asari councilors, maybe i thought anderson and a all human council could do it better, I was given that choice but it didn't matter.

I bought this game because I thought it was a story about how I could save the galaxy from a race of sentient machines and that the choices I make have consequences. I didn't get what was sold to me.

I wanted to feel close to my crew and I kind of did mostly, my chats with the crew were awesome yet tame. Joker/EDI was great, but the rest just felt so empty and pre programmed. I wanted to know what my crew thought of this and that like whenever I talked to them in me1/2. Sure the citadel getaways were nice, garrus joking with the crew was great, tali was great, but I wanted to interact with them, not just spam chat to hear whatever they were gunna say.

I wanted to see the whole galaxy united but I didn't, it was the same cut scene. Sure, I know that the little screen said i had x amount of assets... but I didn't see them. I wanted to see krogans and turians fighting side to side with humans on earth, I wanted to see Salarian dreadnaughts coming out of stealth and surprising the crap out of reapers, I wanted to see the batarian fleets wrecking havoc in the space battle over earth. I wanted to watch the crucible being built, I wanted to see what an undertaking the project was, not just a little holigram in the war room. I wanted to see excerberus scientists being surprised by rachni while working on the crucible. Sure couple seconds that we saw the crucible merge with the citidel was great.

But I spent almost 100 hours trying to unite the galaxy and a child who doesn't follow the theme of the games says to me, "I know, I know, you've done all this work to save the galaxy, here are three choices to destroy the galaxy as we know it. You can kill all technology and leave everyone here to slowly die on earth. You can force quarians and geth to turn into getharians or... you know what, it doesn't matter, the point is you can't save the galaxy and you're probably going to die."

As a game, it was great, the game play was wonderful, I love that you can have uniquely different classes that change your strategy on fighting the enemy, I love that you get to work as a team when you go on missions. What I don't love is that this game as a story had too many holes in it, as a trilogy it didn't really match the first two games. It was just a different game. It contradicted the choices you made in the first two mass effects.

I am glad to hear you guys are thinking about adding more content to this game, please think about this piece of "art" as a story and make sure the story works, there were just too many holes, too many missing pieces and too many contradictory choices.

tl:dr - Mass effect is a story about a human saving the galaxy, and the choices you make reflect upon how the galaxy is saved....

... or at least I thought it was. I didn't save the galaxy and I didn't make choices.

Well... even though I agree with your premise I don't know what this has to do with strategy or builds. It is only very remotely related to gameplay.

I'd say you have the wrong forum :). What you've said, though, is pretty much how everyone felt. Check out the Storyline and Campaign forum for more news.
